Check the dB rating for each speaker? I don't know them off the top of my head, but that may be why the V30 cab sounds louder (because V30s may actually be louder!). EDIT: I just looked it up. V30s are 100 dB, and G12-65s are 97 dB. My guess is that's why they sound noticeably quieter.

I did notice that, but I found a good deal on a used version 1 though. And I didn't start thinking about the mod until after it had already shipped. My two heads at the moment are modded Marshalls, so fearhk123's post leads me to believe it may not be necessary for me anyway. Still would like...

I recall seeing a few Power Station's on YouTube and here that were modded. I can't recall exactly what the mod was affecting, I think it was either high pass filtering or presence. I'm going to be getting a PS in soon, and I was curious if anyone here has personal experience with this mod...

Fryette PS seems to be the consensus, I've owned one but didn't use it as an attenuator, does anyone have experience with Aracom products though? Those are supposed to be on the higher end as well in regards to build quality and functionality.

Square Getters are good, but the best NOS 12AX7 tones I have gotten, have been from old Amperex and Mullards - the long black plate ones. Power tubes in my experience have less of an overall effect on the tone, but still matter. I haven't had any "true" NOS EL34s, just =C= and 90's Teslas.

One of the Framus amps is supposed to be a modern JCM 800 I'm pretty sure. I think I read that somewhere?
