Update: I kid you not, tired of Reverb dragging their feet, I placed a claim with PayPal today and Reverb went into my Reverb account and filed a refund request with the seller of the guitar for $600 (the total was $648).
WTH? Has anybody experienced that before?
Update: Guitar still hasn’t arrived. 14 days after the last tracking update (Reverb policy) the seller told Customer Service the package was lost. That was last Thursday. I still haven’t heard anything from Reverb. Figured they would’ve given a refund by now. i’ll contact them tomorrow, but I’m...
It’s all been a bit sobering. The Easter Bunny isn’t real, King Kong Bundy didn’t break Hulk Hogan’s ribs, and now UPS tracking is fake news. What’s next…the guys from Warrant didn’t actually play their own solos?
Hey Curt. UPS shipping on the customer side isn’t that detailed anymore. Used to be. Not sure what you get to see on your side as a merchant nowadays. All I see is August 24, 11:25 PM “label created” and September 1 4:01 AM “on the way”. All the stuff that happened along the way (departure from...
Purchased a guitar via Reverb on 8/24, label created that day, but the package was shipped on either the 25th or 26th. Estimated delivery date was August 30th. UPS hasn’t updated the tracking since September 1. Talked to an agent in my local depot last week and she said the last physical scan...
When my buddy asked him why use Houston’s craigslist if he was so far away, he got this reply:
“Oh.. Sorry but I had some business in Houston, I just noticed that my location changed when I was traveling. Unless you want to me ship it. I can mail it for $40 if you can pay via paypal as friends...
Wow. I had no idea. All the way back to 2014?
Edit: I looked it up and it’s been happening awhile that way. Font for the year and font for the rest of the serial is different. What a strange way of doing a serial number.
Today I had a buddy who lives in Houston ask me if I thought a Craigslist ad on for a Fender Strat was legit.
He sent the link and the title had "$400" in it, so I told him no. Nobody is selling a legit guitar at one-third or one-fourth it's value in this day and age with easy access to market...
I was seeing these in the $1200 to $1500 ballpark frequently pre-pandemic. Now seeing them $1800 to $2000, but with patience I'll bet one could eventually be found in the $1500 range. Had one with an effects loop and apparently that's rare. I'd pay a little extra for that.
The best I’ve owned:
Friedman BE-100, like Fret Shredder mentioned. Mine is ‘18, 4 switch. Ooh La La. :dunno:
Splawn Quick Rod. Had a bunch. All great. I think I liked the 3-pre version the most, but I wouldn’t get hung up on the differences.
Cameron Aldrich mod. Great sounding and fun to...
not to derail the tone here, but admittedly, it was mostly top of my head. No research, lol, but with recent developments I’ve been a little nostalgic lately about RT moments that had me rolling. I want to remember the good stuff.
Hilarious.
I'm not sure what would end up on the R-T Greatest Hits LP, but I'm thinking it would have...

Oh man, reading threads here I’d scroll down and see Dan’s username and just know something good was coming and start smiling…even that awful pic of the guy in the Daisy Dukes. You just never know all the lives you’ll touch, even in an online community.
Lyn, sorry for your loss! RIP Dan.
Oh man…there’s been a revolving door. It’s a sickness. I just wont keep stuff around that I’m not using regularly, but admittedly the chase is usually better than the catch.
