Just picked up a 2019 Japan limited run 1955 Black Beauty Reissue. Mahogany cap, long tenon, true historic parts (whatever that means) etc.
9lbs 5oz which is fairly light for a non-weight relief Custom. I've seen weight-relived ones that are 10lbs+.
59 neck profile ie not a baseball bat but...
"The Meshuggah thing" has more to do with boost pedals than amps. I'd say take your favourite doom amp and throw a TC integrated preamp variant (Fortin Grind/33, Pepers Dirty Tree etc) at it and it'll usually do the job.
What era of Bolt Thrower tone are you trying to nail? I think the Boss multi fx only came into the picture around the For Victory era IIRC.
But I don’t have any concrete information on what they used on the first 4 albums either...
Re: the whole $5000 amp argument. Let's try to remeber that before the pandemic an used MC1 100w goes for about $2600 most of the times and the VC were usually under $2k used. An used SLO100 were usually $2400 before Mike shut his doors. Used BE100 were usually in that range too. In that...
Unlikely. LY Rock is another cloner that aims at the cheaper end of the local market. I got a KSR Ceres clone from him earlier this year and it was $60.
I have a 1993 and a 2010. I play death metal on mine without any issue. No Ubershcall or Herbert level of bass obviously but I found that it holds together at low tuning and high volume very well. It probably doesn't gel too well with V30's though, but I have none in my cabs.
No experience on...
Check with your local tech first after getting it. It's more than likely the PT has a 240v tap. If it does then it's like a $50 job to switch it to 240v.
Sell it if you're happy with the going rate. I guess the price hikes are partially due to the stimulus checks keeps rolling in and people think they might die from covid at any time so they want their stuff NOW.
From what I understood according to the PRS book, they were more influenced by Juniors and Specials than actual LP's.
Also the scale length, body thickness and finish are all different so I don't even think it's really a LP subsitute.
Considering that many guitarists can't even figure out LPF/HPF filters on some pedals, probably not that many of them can figure out how to use a full-on parametric EQ.
Not much demand in the recording world either since people just use EQ plugins.
