I'm not a tech type- but it does not have a toroidal transformer.
Doesn't it look semi Boutique with all the components laid out really perfect like that ? You rack guys should know this.....
How about a shot of the Front Panel ? Ha. (*Tommy Folkesson ? ) ( Quinn ? ) (Van Weeldin ?) (...
Looking forward to the *Retro Studio Classic with this preamp and about .2 to 2 watts of Tube Power Amp and direct outs to go to Cab IRs plus drive a Speaker for micing simultaneously.
* OK - I made this up - but love the voicing on the Retro- what do you say ENGL ?
Eric- is the 520 Preamp with 3 channels 4 tubes a much warmer classic rock pre than the 630 ?
Capable of smooth Marshall type tones and do you still use it ?
To the OP- thanks for posting the Video- sounds great for an Iphone- I could tell you were reacting to the Tones of the Amp- Free/Bad...
Never tried a 530 but it sounds from demos like Classic Rock and clean Fender Tones and warm Plexi and medium gain are not it's strength.
The 570 in Vintage Mode- might do this and more- one demo sounded very promising- any thoughts?
Excellent ! So with a good Guitar Tube Pre and EFX we can get results like this with no Power Tubes in the signal chain . Now how about letting us hear this guy through 10 or 15 of the different Cab IRs while he's playing ?
Cool- thanks - a nice sounding Demo with an excellent player.
You need more of these where we get to hear the Cabs- EFX are OK as well or in a Mix as on here.
I'd like to hear one input with 10 different Cabs etc. changing while he's playing both solo and in a Mix.
Of course- I'd like to win...
I don't speak French but I can play the Guitar in French Fluently............
Waiting for demos/reviews on the C.A.B to see if just a really good Preamp sounds as good as a Head into the LIVE does.
Or to put it another way- "Can we fool them with no Power Tubes in the signal chain ? "
When will the Pedal Version C.A.B. be available in USA ?
Other than no ability to LOAD an Amp Head ( not accept Power Amp input ) do these have the same sound as the "Live " ?
The few demos I've heard lack bottom end but may not be using a Tube Preamp.
A good comparison would be to use a...
Yeah- If the LIVE sounds really good with a Tube Preamp- can we assume that the Torpedo C.A.B would sound the same ?
Meaning not using the Power Amp input - are these going to sound the same?
Bumping this thread -what about the Torpedo C.A.B.- the Pedal version- does that have a similar sound to the LIVE
IF you just use a Preamp or Preamp Out from a Head ?
OR does the Power Section from the Head make a big difference ?
Thanks. Glad the Pedal Version is "studio specs" signal wise etc.
Didn't see the price on the Pedal but also the single space Rackmount with Loadbox seems more reasonable $ now.
Is there a big difference in TONE between using a Preamp Line Out from a Head into the Pedal -
Versus using...
Are there also versions which are cheaper that work with just a Preamp ?
Meaning they can not accept a Power Amp out from a Head just a Preamp .
And also a Pedal version , maybe?
Do the inexpensive ones work well with just a good Guitar Tube Preamp?
Where are demos which just flip through...
I was going to suggest having someone play your Rig and listening yourself from the front just as Steve K( and others ) above said .- maybe some Rhythm stuff-chords and just some long single notes in different registers ( low, medium, high ).
I know it's in the Fingers and the guy won't play...
Congrats!- Looks like a unique design, and from your description - some excellent Korina.
I just hope "O'Bryant" is someone you know well.......
The inlay looks perfect- and if you're getting lots of warmth off the neck pickup- IMO that's great, 'cause you can always get "bite "- warmth and...
Actually -I thought this was a good analogy. Lucky he didn't go into obscure BB Players that I don't know:
" The Les Pauls with P90s are more like Rick Morton from the '76 Celtics.........."
I've never owned an LP but noticed a lot of clean but really good LP Tones...
I use an ADA MP1 into Cab IRs for writing/practice but it may be good enough for serious recording, surprisingly.
After asking a lot of people on Forums if MP1's were good for warm Marshall Tones I snagged one off E-Bay which had "noise mods " but nothing else done.
The demos of ADA MP1s...
Just be careful not to have the AXE 2 (6.0 release) Profile the Kemper while the Kemper is simultaneously Profiling the AXE 2- can create a Black Hole to Infinity.....
..........or possibly become "self aware".
Great Clip - love the overdrive but clarity at the same time, mix of chops and long notes as well as tasty shred....
Most of all listen to the lead- it's great tones and playing BUT it's not too loud in the Mix !
Does not dwarf the Rhythm Track- more fun to listen to IMO. Nice Job!
Great...
