I just purchased an ADA MP1 preamp for a steal. It is not functioning right. Does anybody know where I can get this unit fixed? Please help!!!

check or switchout the preamp tube(s)...cant remember if theres 2 or 1 in there.
if you could be more descriptive, maybe you'll get more than one answer here? does it fire up. do the lights light up. are you getting signal in, but none out...no signal at all?

schematics are nowhere to be found. they are hard to come by.
you can take it to a technician to figure out but if it is a bad chip schematic references will be needed, they are not marked if i recall correctly. I installed a 3TM and cleaned one up before but it has been a few years back.

They are of course hard to get serviced these days. The instrument jack on mine was bad and apparently that particular jack is no longer available. Fortunately the tech I carried it to is the heat and was able to install a jack and make it work.
The mp-1 is a special piece of gear. It is not perfect but it has a unique sound and still has some good tones in it. Despite some seriously good sounding gear out there, it still stands out in my mind, maybe because so many of my personal guitar heroes used one. Hope you are able to get yours working.

I agree. I tried to replace mine numerous times during my rack years ('88-'09) with all the usual suspects (JMP-1, Triaxis, Fish, Triple Giant, Mesa Quad, Groove Tubes Trio, etc) but always came back to the MP-1. When combined with a good tube power amp its hard to beat for classic metal tones.threadkiller":2rnpbm3w said:
