Sound like the amp is oscillating. This happens sometimes when the output transformer primary is reversed. Tighten the transformer bolts, grounds, and jacks (not too tight). Or maybe grid wire or presence wire might be smashed into a place where it's getting parasitics.
Yeah, and turn off the...
IK Multimedia has a sale going on, buy 1 plugin and get 24 for free. Amplitube 5 with all the free add on packs would have you covered. Plus you can get extra compressors, eq, delays, etc.

Mine is similar to that Micro 800 but there are a few different things. His design is cool. Probably better than mine. I have a self-split output tube. He was able to tune down the phase inverter enough for the 12A_7 output tube.
Yeah. No F_n way a 1-5W can hang with a drummer. 20W...
I have homebuilt 100, 50, 5, and 1 watters. The low watt amps will never be ground pounders, but you can get some great tones at moderate volumes with them. The 5W is an old Champ with a real simple preamp and a single ended 6V6. Best combo I have for it is the Kemper and an old Marshall 4x12...
I've had both in my LP. A super cool friend of mine brought over a box of like 20 pickups. He said I could keep the one I like. Bunch of Duncans and DiMarzios and a couple Gibsons. I was looking for a grindy 100w Marshall sound and a good rolled off tone.
Aldrich sounded the best. StewMac 10K...
I think you are supposed to rub on the tru-oil, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it off with a clean rag. Do a few coats with a day or so in between.
For the dye I'm not 100% sure. You might have to find an oil based one. Stew Mac does say theirs will mix will pretty much anything...
Take this with a grain of salt. I could be wrong. I don't know shit about solid state.
Your schematic doesn't show voltages or transformer specs. Looking at some Peaveys they show a similar power supply setup and 33V and 15V power rails. A 24V-0-24V (48VCT - center tapped) will give you 33V...
You're right commiting on the way in and miking up a cab is ideal. Reamping is a workflow benefit. You can send your edited final take through the amp one time and be done or save something that wasn't quite right at tracking after the band has gone home. Or it can eliminate pick noise if you...
There are so many options. The best way is to try as many as you can. I gave my bass amp away to a good friend that deserved it a few weeks ago and I miss it already. You can get by with just a plain D.I. tone, but a lot of the recordings nowadays blend clean and dirty mic'ed amp and D.I. tones...
There is a video on YT called Luthiers Tricks or something like that.
He loosens the neck bolts a little and and smacks the headstock with a rubber mallet in the direction of the bridge to seat the neck a little deeper in the pocket. Worth a try?
Tacking it back on would probably get it working again, but you should change that part. It's an F&T axial lead electrolytic. Discharge it first just in case. If you solder it do it quick.
You should probably run the latest mobo BIOS. Sucks the whole PC industry gooched TB. Does it work good on an Apple?
Seems like the motherboard mfg are promising what they can't deliver. You might have to get a daughter board PCIe TB card from them.
Arm-R-Seal by General Finishes is excellent. It's a rubbing varnish oil blend. It was so easy to use. It dried in minutes, though you should leave to cure for a couple weeks.
On this LP copy I applied it with sandpaper and slurried in the grain instead of using regular filler.
I went with the bar stool height chairs with backs too, and one of those motorized sit/stand desk. It's cool because I can fit a 12U rack, some amp heads, or even a 4x12 under there.
We bought a bar height kitchen table and got two extra chairs. That way we have extra seats for dinner or if a...
There is a spray called Ozium. Works for getting the smoke smell out of cars. They usually have it at the larger drug stores. Small white and blue can.
You shouldn't breathe it after you spray.
