Thanks. Timely advice on the inserts. Bardens seem like a solid choice. I was thinking DiMarzio Hot Area T and a Strat Area neck, Fishman Fluence, Kinmans, or the Duncan Little 59s. So that makes the choice even harder.

I'm getting close on these two kit builds from Precision Guitar Kits. I have some questions regarding the Tele. Should I use threaded inserts for the neck and bridge? Any pickup recommendations? I like the single coil sound but am not really too purist about it.

Hold them with needle nose pliers and take it to the grinder. I use a hand grinder with a flat wheel. Careful not to mess up the threads

The variac is for finding a sweet spot, not just cranking it down to 90V.

The rack rails have 3 holes per rack space. If you cut them 1/3 or 2/3 U long, that should give you the clearance for your pedals. I don't know the mfr. is of the ones I have. But they seem pretty bog standard.
