So yeah - this might sound strange but here goes: I'm looking for a set of rack rails (front and Back) somewhere between 5 and 6 spaces and they need to not be drilled yet. Anyone with any info they can share with me would be my hero. If you know someone that can bend metal in their garage - please let me know. If you know a machinist or fabricator that might work with me - also, please let me know.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. I know it sounds like a stupid request but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Could just go to a metal supply shop, buy a 3 foot piece of 1" (1/8" wall) angle iron, have them cut it into four 9" pieces, and then drill all the holes yourself. :D

Angle iron would be a bitch to drill that many holes in, rack rails are usually aluminum, or it they are steel, they're drilled by a CNC machine. Why do you need rails with no holes ? You can buy rails with holes from MidAtlantic I think... good luck.

See this is useful information to me. This route will be how I go if nothing else pans out. Now I'm going to go look for metal supply shops.

Thanks duder.

you could get square hole blank rails. similar to skb that use the clips. penn makes some.

Here's my gigantic pain in the ass story. Thanks for asking! :D

I picked up an amp case/rack enclosure a while back and figured a 5 space rack would be enough for my purposes. Well that's not quite swinging it anymore.

My setup is as follows: (from the top)

Power Conditioner - 1 space
Tuner - 1 space
Loop Switcher - 1 space
EMPTY SPACE
Sliding Rack Shelf - 1 space

I expected it to work space wise with several pedals mounted to the rack shelf and the pedals would occupy the space that was left empty. The problem is that some of the pedals are just a little taller than one rack space and I can't slide the shelf open or closed without banging up the tops of the pedal switches against the bottom of the loop switch unit. Sometimes I accidentally turn stuff on or off that I didn't want on or off and it dings everything up. A small pain in the ass but a pain in the ass nonetheless. However...

When they made the enclosure they left a bit of space at the top and at the bottom of the rack area. It's just enough space where if I put in rack rails that go all the way to the top and all the way to the bottom, I could drill out three spaces (on all four rails) from the top down, and then drill out one rack space at the very bottom and leave the empty space without holes. This would allow for the shelf to slide in and out without tearing shit up. I've made it work with a makeshift set of rails just as a proof of concept but I need something less ducktape and spitballs for the actual piece.

There's my stupid story. Thanks for listening.

Thanks I thought of that but it's still not quite what I need. I have an empty space in my rack that needs to be just a little bigger than one rack space.

The rack rails have 3 holes per rack space. If you cut them 1/3 or 2/3 U long, that should give you the clearance for your pedals.

I don't know the mfr. is of the ones I have. But they seem pretty bog standard.

I’m not sure if your racks are similar to mine, but there is usually a little extra space above and below the rack area. It seems you alluded to that space in your third post. Is there enough space at the top to just put your effects drawer at the top and not have to make your own rails? If your power conditioner has a light, it wouldn’t work, though.

That’s the situation exactly. However there’s not enough room so that I can move either the top or bottom unit one hole up or down. I’ve got just about 3/4 of the space I need to make that kind of shift. So that won’t work for my situation but thanks for the attempt.
