How's the new band going? We decided to stay a three piece and everyone (in the band) is really digging it. We seem to have more energy and focus now, and its not even that our old guitar player was holding us back. Its just a different chemistry I suppose.

DOH! I thought you had the Aldrich. I can see where the JB might be "too much" for the TA. Is the Suhr p.u. you have lower output than the JB?

I'm at work so I can't check out the clip at this moment, but I'll def check it out when I get home. How long have you had the JB in your LP? How do you like it? Better/Worse/Just different from the Aldrich?

This is about to change. I'm swapping the Bodenhamer CE-2 out for a MM4, and the Bodenhamer DS-1 out for a Metal Muff since the DS-1 is so close to the tone of my amp.

I'm currently jonesing for a faded brown explorer. :doh: The faded Gibson stuff rocks! :rock:

That's funny you say that about the treble. I kept it a bit high when I would play with our other guitar player just because that's what sounded good. Its like you were looking at my amp settings. :lol: :LOL: Looks like I might have to check out one of them Carbon Copy's. :confused: :D

Sorry I didn't mention this before, but I play rock with a bit of heaviness and punk thrown in for good measure; sort of a heavy Social Distortion. I always try to use open chords whenever possible. That comes naturally to me from playing a lot of acoustic guitar.

My bass player actually started using an OD pedal just before we decided to make this transition. We all LOVE the sound and it will help us now with our new format. My bass player has always done back up vocals so we're all set in that department. Thanks!

Since we are an original band we have the luxury of writing our own songs and can make them sounds however we like. Doing covers would be a bit of a problem. I actually thought about a delay pedal and/or my amp's reverb to fatten up solos. I can't even begin to imagine using a looper. Singing...

If I was a EVH or a Dimebag it would be a non-issue, but I'm the lead singer as well so this is putting a lot more pressure on me. I'm thinking the new material will have less "solos" and more rhythmic breakdown type sections just because that is more my forte. I'm excited, but a little...

The other guitar player in my band (who is also my best friend of 22 years) is moving away, so my band has decided to become a 3 piece. I LOATHE looking for musicians, especially guitar players. Plus, everyone in the band is really good friends so it will be hard to replace such a close friend...
