Reverb Seller's Impudent Response to Not At All as Described

I wasn't implying that you were lying, or even talking about your situation. I was agreeing with someone else about how many people try to weasel out of deals.

Reverb Seller's Impudent Response to Not At All as Described

I know. How many times has this happened the other way around too? Little scratch on the bottom of the amp, and someone tries to pull the not as described card because they had buyers remorse.

Reverb Seller's Impudent Response to Not At All as Described

The dude is a renowned dick head, always has been. If everything goes smoothly there's no issue. If anything is off about what you got he acts like he's some dude just selling his personal gear online and not an actual store. I know both KSR and Mezzabarba have gotten involved when he was trying...

SweetWater and Musician's Friend have the JP2C on Sale

Wow, wasn't expecting that. I guess that's what people get for complaining the Mark VII was more expensive.

What makes a Badlander part of the Rectifier family?

It sounds like a recto to me. Obviously the frequencies are different, but it has that grainy Recto distortion. I hear the same thing in Pitbulls. Then again I probably don't EQ my Rectifiers in the typical way.

Why so many weird sellers lately?!?!? Or common practice?

I think it's weird that people want to try stuff before buying it. I'm not a store. I can count on one hand the pieces of gear I've tried before buying. I have pretty much stopped buying stuff though because it's too hard to flip things and be close enough to break even now with the price of...

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

I understand. I think it's equally important to show the other side of the coin though, where you can get the vibe you're looking for in a more attainable fashion. That's what I said in my post, and you apparently took umbrage with that, as if you can't actually get the recto sound from a Rev G...

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

That's not entirely accurate. Raw dollars matter. A 1% mistake that costs a company $2,000,000 isn't the same as a 1% mistake that costs a company $200. You might be willing to spend an extra 300% on a steak for an anniversary dinner or on vacation because it's $40. You're probably not ok...

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

That analogy only works in this scenario if the one brand of OJ is $4,500 more than the other brand and not actually available to be purchased.

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

It's definitely easy for that to occur, specifically with graphic EQs. I think most people boost or cut too much. Most EQs shouldn't look like the fader settings on a Mark, they should be more subtle. Parametric EQs seem more natural to me, but again you should be doing subtle changes. Same...

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

Yea I get why the C is more money because of the rarity and the fact that it's different. $6k is a lot for an amp no matter what though. And yea I agree on the Rev F. The one I played sounded basically the same as the early Rev G I owned, which sounded like the other Rev G's I've owned just...

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

I got my Rev G for $1,200 last year. I'll take that and $100 boost over $6k for a Rev C or $3k+ for an F. Not saying it's better, just saying I don't think it's worth the extra $$ when a Rev G/ Multiwatt + Boost will give you "the Recto sound".

Recto Lovers - what would you buy now?

Badlander if I was buying new. For used I would wait for a good price on a Rev G, or a multiwatt if you need a clean channel. Everything else is too expensive. Tremoverbs were my favorite, but I can't justify $2k for an amp I bought and sold multiple times for $750 within the past 5 years.

POLL & Discussion - Your Age, Social-media Presence and So On

There's no way the majority of these fuckers are 30-40. The official RT stance is anything that came into existence after 1987 sucks. (Exclusions include amps made of unobtainium)

Thanks JHS! Bad Monkey trending UP $$

My buddy periodically sends me texts of "holy shit xxx is selling for $$$$ now!?!?!" With a reverb listing of something way overpriced. Every time I have to explain that listing something at a certain price doesn't mean they're selling for that price. I feel like I need to send him a link to...

Rumors of a Mark 6/7 coming on Tuesday?

My buddy is getting his Saturday and he ordered from Sweetwater. It was definitely after you too because I saw you post about ordering one and then told him about it. My guess is there was a screw up with yours.
