Nolly we gotta hear this beast loud! The tones you managed to get on Periphery albums are insane so if you're saying this amp is near perfect I can't even imagine how good it is in person. What speakers are in your zilla cab?
It sounds pretty badass but not for the metal crowd. There was one part in the overview video where the guy gets into "modern gain" territory, even then it's 90's grunge at most.
Wooo! Congrats on the amp. The way you described the amp is exactly how I would describe the Orthos I just got. Wonder how similar they are under the hood.
Only ever tried the 6505 and I don't think the Orthos sounds anything like it. It's a very tight and aggressive tone but with those "feel" controls you can get it closer to a recto/6505 type tone. It has its own thing going on for sure. I'll try to post up a high gain clip later this week.
Thanks guys! I'll post up some high gain stuff sometime next week, cab is at the church. And yes it's 100 watts maddnotez.
The two knobs are the new "feel" control.
" The "Feel" control is a 6 position rotary switch that in the most counter-clockwise position is the tightest response, and...
Yes, it was! ÜberschallEL34 is a great seller btw! Packed it up ready for war lol. How's the Ares?! I was going to go with that if I didn't grab the Orthos.
Got it a few days ago. This is one beastly sounding amp, 2 channels with 4 sounds on tap. I only have a video of it on the clean channel because I was having too much fun jamming which is always a good thing. The logo changes colors that can be assigned to any channel/master volume combo you...
Hahahah fair enough.
It wasn't their best that's for sure lol. Some decent riffs and a few nice solos but it dragged a lot. Maybe after seeing it live I will change my mind?
I almost went with that cab/speaker choice but felt like trying something a little different. It smokes the Mesa cab. Creamback speaker pairs well with the V30.
I have a 2x12 horizontal recto cab and maybe I'm in the minority but I hate it. Bought myself a 2x12 OS Port City cab and it's much better. JP-2C and Port City are a great match. Creamback V30 combo btw.
You won't have to pay anything, you'll look up an authorized Mesa amp repair shop and they'll fix it up. First off, try the amp out because the loop might not be an issue for you. If it is then get the fix. It's not that big a deal.
