65s sound fantastic with my Fender Deluxe Reverb Head. not good for my high gain amps. too blurry and not tight in the lows.
Really? I love them, of course I'm mixing with V30's
i tried that....in x pattern and also top bottom... went back to 4 v30s and boom, cab came back to life. just didn't work for me in a high gain/modern application. scott splawn loves them though, so just my opinion.

so the CBH75/V30 could be a better match than the CB65/V30 for modern applications?

What amp?

splawn nitro, evh stealth, JJ, BE, 20th shiva, rev blue uber.

Loving the H75's in my StoneAge 2x12C cab!
Sound great with my XTC Classic, Metroplex and Glaswerks SOD. Plenty of thump and sounds really good clean and overdriven. One of the best Celestion speakers in a long time!!
Anxious to try the new 90 watt Alnico Creams.....

-bingo!!!!-

-the ALNICO CREAM's are the cats ass!!.. A friend brought over a generic 2x12 with a pair, as I'm packing to move to the left coast... tried them with a JJ & KK, with every form of GREENBACK known to existence & some V-30's-(MESA & the original MARSHALL versions)-I couldn't get them to sound bad, I wanted to shit can the 2x12 and have them in the same 4x12 as what I was mixing them with... (seems "friend" was worried his tolex might be soiled from my mutatant cabs, and preferred a "kinder, gentler" break in process..

-(notes)-
-they're not cheap!!!!
-the more I pushed them the more they responded with-(GASP!!)-"CHIME"...+ some surprising GROWL..
-"hello,.. I'm SG~GUY and I'm a speaker hoarder" seems I have 33 greenback's of different varieties.. 2 ..15" fullbacks that have never been out of there boxes.
-ive also lost my mind because I now believe 8 ohm speakers are far superior than 16ohm speakers.
-I will always have another bowl or 2 of captain crunch with crunch berries even thou the first bowl left the roof of my mouth in shreds.

-how's that for random!!

-oh yeah, I'm sitting in a truck stop in Wyoming with a 150 lb ROTTWEILER who got pissed at me and gave me kennel cough because I shut the ac off while parked on I 80/90 outside Chicago for just over 5 hours-just more random ramblings from a sleep deprived man..

Yea I suppose so, what cab are you using? Splawn as well? They really are great cabs. And don't get me wrong it didn't sound bad so to say but just didn't have the punch and clarity I'm used to.

I bought an Avatar 2x12 with the G12M65 Creambacks in it...sounds ridiculously good IMO.

For what it's worth, I relented and put a Celestion v30 in one side of this cab for more chunk/attack...this was always the plan for the cab when I bought it and I do prefer it now.

Bogner, yeah I love Splawn, I have a 212

I'm still running two M65 Creambacks in my Bogner 212CB and it sounds fabulous with heavier stuff. No issues. I may try a V30 on the one side to see how it sounds with that combination as everyone keeps touting it to be great as well.

Have the H version on a Friedman Dirty Shirley combo as it came stock... Sounds very nice, chewy and sweet!

The H is a GREAT speaker!
Sounds great clean or dirty with all my amps.
Best speaker they've made in years.

guys anyone have good luck with the scum H75 (65w/16ohm) for modern tones as well? Usually when I am googling stuff people mention blues and hard rock. But I have not seen anyone digging them for modern rock/ alternative metal or at least mention that. I'm running a 7string as well and I am planning to do a V30/H75 (or creamback 75) I just hope it won't flub out or be too rounded dark and not have enough punch and clarity.

My port city 2x12 os has a creamback H/V30 combo. This cab isn't going anywhere. I'm pairing it with a JP-2C btw.

OK guys, I just loaded my orange 4X12 with 2 scumback H75, 65w, 16Ohm speakers. X pattern. It's one of the best cabs I've had now.
I used to have a problem if i boosted the presence on my amp above 11 o'clock things would just get super glassy/piercing..

It's literally gone now to the extent that I can now increase the presence to maximum and it sounds good, i can decrease to minimum, still sounds good. The whole mix is tits cause everything just got fatter and more in your face.

I was also worried how these H75 would work for modern music and 7 string playing - IT'S TITS!
I can only recommend a V30/H75 mix, you won't be disappointed.

I just recorded with my BE-100 and BE Cab. I NEVER liked v30's with marshall style amps, but i liked the overall tone of the BE cab in a live situation.

I went to record in a professional studio and the engineer mic'ed all 4 speakers. Holy crap did the v30's sound thin and harsh compared to the GB's. I had to check that he didn't place the mic dead center on the cone (he didn't). So we ended up using the GB tracks with just a very slight bit of v30 to add some high end sizzle. Got some amazing tones! However, this confirmed that i just do not like v30's at all.

I ordered a pair of 75 watt H Creambacks (liked the extra bite they had over the 65's. I had a 65 in a DSL40 and thought it was a little dark). Man... did my BE cab come alive. Gone is the one minor issue i had with my tone (high mid spike i couldn't lose) and now i just have this huge sounding setup. It's warm, cuts hard with plenty of low end and non-brittle highs.

Yeah. I have been using my M65 loaded 2x12's for a few years now. Everything from Journey and Styx to Pantera and Deftones. Never had a issue with tight low end. Use these cabs with the Quick Rod, Henning Bottle Rocket, Deliverance 60, Dual Rec. always sound great.
