Yep. I liked it wayyyy better than any 5150/6505 I've had. I've owned two of them but I always off them because they say Peavey and I'm a corksniffer I guess :doh: . Definitely in my top 5 or 6 favorite amps and I've had most of them.

I've had more guys do this to me when I'm selling something on rig talk than tgp. Not cool. I actually like selling on tgp better than rig talk but I like the topics and share the same tastes in gear and music with most dudes on rig talk. I think both forums have something to offer. :thumbsup:

I've spent a lot of money on boutique amps and pickups and I've learned that the majority of the mass produced stuff (Duncan/Dimarzio/Mesa/Marshall/etc.) sounds every bit as good as boutique gear. It's all about preference though. I think most guys just like the uniqueness (is that a word? :D)...

I don't get all the hoopla, I thought the CCV sounded good and was definitely among the better sounding amps even with the bad tubes or whatever else Mark said was wrong with it. It didn't sound as good as psychodave's clips and a couple others I've heard but it was a million times better than...

Sounds like you like the Bogner and should go that route but I like the Mark V better. It's a little different to dial in but once you do, not many amps can top it. It CAN NOT be dialed in like any other Mark series amps if you want to hear it's full potential.

I've read a few of those comments and I don't get it. So "your" amp didn't sound good to you with those settings and on that cab....who cares? All that matters is that you like it. I think the point of the shootout was to give people who haven't or will never be able to play them some idea of...

Just make the switch to Ruby EL34BHT they are ALMOST as good and what Peter Diezel prefers even over the Winged C's in his new amps. $180 a quad is ridiculous and I hope none of you guys buy any at that price. :boxer:

Yeah. I wouldn't get caught up in all the internet hype of different wiring styles, different speaker wire, jacks, Marshall cabs don't sound as good as brand x cab, etc. Swap out 2 speakers in each cab and rock.

I tried the EMTY Blackouts in an ESP Eclipse Full Thickness and they sounded absolutely horrendous to me. It was the worst sounding pickup set I ever heard. Maybe it was the guitar/pickup combo but I don't know why a guitar with LP Custom specs wouldn't sound good with them.

PRS SC 250's with the wide fat neck sound and feel perfect to me.
