This will be the deciding factor if I ever pick one of these up. That video posted here was super disappointing, but have a feeling it can do better.

Aesthetically it's amazing. Tonally it sounds great and has extra resonance. So it's awesome to make amps without a depth knob sound bigger (amazing with a Marshall). But if you want surgical tight you'd probably want something with less resonance so that you could dial it back in with your...

Do you know what circuit this year is based on? Sounds way darker than any of Shae or Jason's previous stuff.

Microphony testing is only for preamp tubes... I'm not going to say I haven't had some inconsistent results with noise testing preamps, but best 2 out of 3 has solved my problems. Also lot of variability in manually tapping them since your force is going to change every time.

Any interest in a Hermansson + cash trade?

Bare Knuckle Pickups because no one else makes that high of output for a tele single coil. I have/had pickups by most of those on the list and they've all been good to be honest.

Aren't the JJ E34Ls used because they're rated for the level of plate voltage a Wizard puts out? I have a pair of Tungsols I could theoretically try in my MCII, but gonna wait for some folks to chime in here on their results first.

Not an expert, but researched a bunch before buying one, and I think those are just a smaller run from like the late 80s. Probably a red knob era circuit.

If for no other reason, get one just to help match wattages. I got a 100w just to match the 90w of the other speaker in my 212.

What I really want to know, when the Jose is switched off, how good of a 100w Plexi is it? I used to own a Friedman modded Plexi that he made sound just like his '68 (and now the Plex) and I completely regret selling it since all the other Plexi's I've bought just couldn't measure up.
