For my Floyds with the barrel bolt, Schaller and Old Charvel/ Jacksons I keep some standard floyd bridge bolts around. Just temporarily replace the barrel bolts with standard ones so you can use an intonation key and then return the originals afterwards for full range tuning. Pretty simple...
Cant believe it sold for 1K. It looks like he/they added a bulge of wood or filler t o allow the foreward humbucker route to intrude into the lower scallop. Tssk bad refin just make selling online harder for everyone.
I have tried getting similar things together in the Seattle area, but things always happen. Now im down to mostly preamps and A Fractal plus a couple Mesa's, so not much to contribute.
The one thing I did learn while trying to make one work was.
Either get insurance or make everyone sign a...
For Skolnick fans...check out the YouTube channel BangerTV. He is a panelist on a competition series called "Shredders of Metal". Honestly a lot of it is hard to watch, but Alex does some demo stuff.
BangerTv is a channel by Sam Dunn from documentaries Metal evolution and "Rush: beyond the...
Thanks Strat.
I am constantly looking for very specific neck carves that work for me, and Caparison is on my list of interest. The best neck I have tried so far is my 91 Jackson RR1 professional, something about the Japanese carve makes it slightly better than the USA models. So your comparison...
I have wanted a Caparison for ages, but have never had the chance to try one in person. Can someone give me an idea of the neck shape. I have a number of Jackson, Charvels from the 80's and early 90's, also ESPs and Kramers and of course Ibanez RGs. So I have a good idea of the shredder neck...
I had my stock Mp1 modded to 3Tm specs a couple of years ago by Marshal Jmp. I got my AxeFx 2 right after that, so I never had much time to bond with the changes. Ive still got it and my other pre amps, but they seem to be more relics and hold overs from my past than required tools.
Its cool...
I sent a painting recently to Germany. 6'x5'x14" crate weighing 65lbs.. Not sure of the exact total, since the buyer paid. But I think it was $650ish.
Sent a 7'x7' crate to Canada and it cost me $350 plus brokrage fees.
I have used freight services of Fed ex, Ups and have found the best to be...
I am a bit confused. Tone is an arbitrary idea of what we use to describe our idea of how something sounds. And the only way we guage tone is through our own hearing, but we shouldnt ever trust our own hearing?
I do understand the point you were making about overreliance on an...
I too liked the first album. But the focus became defused and abit lacklustre. I know the satanic lyrics and staging brings up MF/King Diamond, but they always remind more of Rammstein.
Lots of memorable nights....the fights and stupidity kinda get forgotten, unless I was involved.
Yngwie opening for Dio(85 ?) in Seattle, with only 15 -20 people watching him. God he was amazing back then.
Going to see Multi bill with Exodus 85-86 in an underground parking garage Tacoma,wa...
Huge fan of the Arch albums and the early Alder. Love John Arch's voice and his unique phrasing. My wife is a trained Soprano and uses some FW songs for practice. Nothing quite like hearing "The Apparition" at full voice ....sometimes it just makes my day.
Anyone else hear John Archs tryout...
Pickguards always make a guitar look look cheaper,to me at least. I developed my guitar love during the 80's , so solid top, flashy colored super strats were the benchmark. Jackson/Charvel s with day glo colors and pointy bits at the end of a neck are my go to yardstick.
My esteemed opinion...
Sadly I cant say it was good. The vocals and guitar/drums could have been frim different songs, there was little similarly in groove or pacing.
Lyrics were pretty mediocre and lacked any pacing or punch. Reminded me of some of the worst of Halfords. The vocals didnt work, except for 5-6 word...
I took the "to you" part of the question to mean which would be more usable, not which I can sell/flip.
If the moded one sounds good and the mods are non-distructive, past an extra hole for a pot, I would take the mod. A stock 800 doesn't have enough gain particularly at anything below fully...
Since PCBs are essentially just doing point to point wiring in an easily replicated format
So I ask any amp geeks, Could the Op replicate the schematic for this JEt City using another method...turret board etc?
I
Cool necro.
That poster brings back such memories....? It lived on one wall or another till the mid 90's. Michael Sweets head does look a tad freakish but I think it's just the bow tie obscuring the neck. But why is it B&W and not B&Yellow......Stryker didn't move away from the B&Y look until...
Your lucky to have had such a seemless transition. Others I've talked with have not been so lucky. I'm very sensitive to neck shape changes between guitars, so it takes quite awhile to get comfortable with any major changes. Perhaps the length of time on 7's helped make it easier.
Wasn't aware I had the ability to prevent others from doing whatever they wished. Guess I'll need to look into it since lots of people do stupid ass things.
Not that this is one of them. I just questioned the level of rerecording all the parts for presentation.
