Yeah man, absolutely killer! They're my favourite band since.. well, probably about a year ago, which is a long time for me, I can't get enough of them.
My thread about Boss pedals was kinda inspired by porcupine tree, I really like their weird effects and Boss seems to market their weird...
After having the Jet City for 10 days I got around to playing some metal on it, wishing it sounded more like a 5150. I'll buy another 5150 some day, for myself, for metal, but since I don't really play metal and my band isn't metal at all the Jet City suits me.
I assumed it was basically a voume swell in a box, useful for weird/trippy shit?
EDIT: Just saw that they make a DIY tremolo, this I like the idea of alot, do/will they ship to the UK? It's only £45, and if it's good quallity I'll buy it, I'd rather buy a kit than buy a pedal, just the kinda...
I've heard it's a love it or hate it affair, I have no idea how it sounds, just sounded interesting from the description.
Then again, all Boss pedals sound amazing from their description and a lot of them sound wank.
Nope.  Couldn't afford an ISP Decimator, MXR EQ or Tubescreamer at the time and I got the TU-2 thrown in when I bought a guitar.
I HATE a lot of Boss pedals, all of their distortion/OD pedals other than the SD-1, whatever the blues one is called and the DS-1.
Despite my entire pedalboard (tuner, SD-1, EQ, NS-2) being BOSS, I'm not a fan of most of their line of pedals, I've always found an alternative that I'd prefer or just don't fancy them much.
But some of the discontinued Boss pedals are really interesting, as I'm playing in a prog/psychedelic...
My pedalboard is pretty messy and consists of a daisy chain 9v adapter and four boss pedals, a tuner, a boost, an EQ and a gate. I don't give a fuck.  I like my tone.
One other thing I think should be noted is that a lot of people on this forum simply have more money than a lot of...
Really? That's odd. I didn't know transformers could make such a substantial difference. Well, I did, just not enough to separate one amp from another.
T.A.D are the best power amp valves I've ever used. IMO. I really like them, they did wonders in my 5150, unfortunately, I sold the fucker with the TAD's in.
I wonder how TAD pre's are.
EHX 6l6s are wank by the way, durable, rock-steady, but sound wank.
I guess so, I have enough 12ax7s around, JJ and EHX that I can use, I put a Marshall in the V1 slot, it's a replacement for one of the pres that my tech (the tech I go to, rather) put in, maybe an EHX for the loop buffer, JJ for the lead channel or something.
It's annoying though thinking that...
Thanks man!
I love it too.
I've got a cap change, a FX loop mod and a kt66/88 mod, - then - I'll be fully satisfied. Part of the reason I got this thing was to mod it. :D
So, do you think they're on par, or a lesser well tested form of Ruby's? I'm actually pretty pissed off about it, especially considering the one on the shop floor had Ruby's, I looked in the back. My friend who I demo'd the amps with said that it sounded the same as in the shop but I disagreed...
