Anyone put a V30 in their Thiele?

I recently bought a Thiele loaded with a V30 to go with my JP-2C. It sounded okay, but it was a bit underwhelming. I ended up replacing the V30 with an EV 12L and have been very pleased with the results. Huge improvement.

    NAD, JP-2C

Congrats! I love mine too. It has a such a nice feel and tone to it when playing leads. Fat, articulate, and searing at the same time.

New series From Mesa Of Petrucci Demoing The JP-2C On Stage

I am in the same boat. However, I have found that the JP-2C really sounds great at lower volumes. The volume pots have a nice useable taper to them.

Mesa Boogie JP-2C vs Friedman "Butterslax" (YT Find)

Both sound great to me, but I prefer the Boogie. Friedman was a bit muffled and woofy sounding. The Boogie was livelier and more focused.

NAD! JP-2C. I think I can sell my boost pedals now.

Congrats! I got one last week, and this amp is indeed bad ass.

Let's see your LES PAULS ...

Picked this one up a few weeks ago. Murphy Aged R7. Plays and sounds great. Haven't had time to snap my own pics. This one is courtesy of the dealer:

LIVE Metallica show on youtube right now in HD

I was there too! Agree it was a great show, especially considering it was a one off, not in the middle of a tour. The best moment for me was after the show when a teenage kid and his sister sitting behind me told their dad that they had their doubts but Metallica killed the Foo Fighters concert.

Great Demo of ALL the Friedman Amps from NAMM

I like the EVH stuff too, but having owned both, the Friedman stuff is on another level IMO. Both great amps.

    Bright sounding BE100

I think you are definitely on the right track in terms of checking the bias. You may want to also consider replacing the tubes.

    Stevens 2x12 Cabinet questions

I am thinking about down sizing my rig as I am moving into a smaller space. I am considering replacing my SS 412 (4 V30s) with a SS 2x12. I had a few questions. 1. What is the approximate lead time? 2. Would it be possible to go with one V30 and one Cream Back? 3. Are casters an option...

New rig day: Friedman and Knaggs content

Big Steve Stevens fan, and I gotta say the guy has good taste in gear. The Knaggs is a work of art and plays unbelievably well. Big neck on this one. The amp kills too! Great crunchy tones and a fat lead sound. Props to Tony at GC Platinum Nashville for great service on the amp and Rebel...

Bump. As a new SS 100 owner, I am interested to hear any responses.

    Ruby's vs JJ's in 101b

I wouldn't think the difference would be that dramatic. What are your initial thoughts since the re-tube?

    Helios power setting.

I am kind of wondering about this myself. I am currently running through a Diezel 4-ohm cab, so I have not experimented with the 30 watt setting.

    NAD: Helios 100

I received my Helios a week ago. It actually arrived on my birthday. After having it for a week, I have to say it sounds great! I am running it through a Diezel rear loaded 2x12 with V30s. Very pleased with the sounds I am getting. This amp can cover a lot of ground, and I can see this amp...

New Diezel Cab - thought it was 8 ohm but looks like 4 ohm

Thanks guys! I took the jack plate off and shined a flash light in there, and it looks like it has V30s. This weekend I'll pull the back off and see how the speakers are wired. The cabinet sounds good, just curious why it was sold as an 8 ohm cab, but labeled as 4 ohm.
