I owned a Canadian version silver jubilee 2554 many yrs ago and it didn't blow me away, It had some great tones that could be dialed in but it wasn't what it was hyped up to be. I think the tiny 1x12 combo make it sound much smaller, I believe it was smaller then most other Marshall 1x12 combos...
That's not true at all as far as material. He had no shortage of songs as we found out as years after his death new songs were being released. What was over was being an underground / punk band and they became mainstream which is something Kurt hated. Even without nirvana Kurt would have still...
While I agree that there's plenty of interesting evidence, the point that is always bought up is about Kurt's heroin level. You hear guys say 3 times the lethal dose but you have to understand that addicts build a tolerance. Just imagine the amount and quality of dope that Kurt had access to...
I know everyone has seen the sloppy work on that 20 watt amp from a while back that was supposedly a prototype , but has anyone actually seen the insides of one of these newer production run amps? Are they pcb or turret board ?
Anyone who searches the classifieds here can buy pretty much any of the cooler modded Marshall's , Friedmans, etc then copy the layout or build a clone, then just re sell the amp on the classifieds without taking a loss. What's funny to me is that it's hardly ever the builder who complains to...
Very true.
A good friend of mine fell on hard times financially and now his only guitar is a Chinese epiphone les Paul. Its funny to watch him show up to a gig with the epi and whatever back line amp is there and rip to shreds the guys with super expensive guitars and rigs (myself included)...
Nice, I think I remember reading about this one a while back. If you want to sell the original let me know. I can't wait to here your clips of this and also of the afd.
I doubt that mike would lie just to benefit billy blades and pull a hoax on everyone. The amp did sound pretty good, but as others said about good production has a lot to do with it. Amp sounds great and price is nice but the amp still looks pretty ugly.
Its a stereotype for a reason. In china, they view things such as guitars etc as toys. They are not being made by luthiers or by people who even play guitar. It's all about cranking out high numbers at the cheapest price plain and simple. That's how they get the contracts, high numbers and low...
As far as the Super Bowl and being unplugged, the band has said since day 1 that they were made to do it that way. They were going to refuse to do it but in the end figured it was a once in a lifetime chance to get their music out to a record number of people. It's not like they can't play their...
That's crazy. There's a tweed slo on tgp for $2400 , and there was another purple for $2700 . They are probably still there burried. Their classified section moves quick so good deals can get burried.p.s. Another with black alligator $2500
If they are stock then they are ceramics. Only the recent re release classics don't have the ceramics. Some are wound hotter then others though, pickup height, and the fact of a different guitar may account why they sound diff your goldtop.
Congrats. Older classics are great guitars for the dough. I believe that in 02 they still were all 1 pc body which is something found mostly on custom historic gibsons these days, and dark rosewood boards. I dig the 500k ceramics in them, don't change them.
