So just as an update: I got a fresh quad of JJ KT77's and JJ EL34 II's (Shout out to Eddy for the stellar customer service) both matched to each other, so it's a matter of just swapping.
With the EL34 II's, I definitely like the direction the EL34's are going. I noticed the lows were actually...
Thanks for the help guys! I managed to find the right fuses at a local shop, but they only had glass ones. I’m going to use them for now, but would someone be able to point out where I can buy ceramic ones? Thanks!
Hey guys,
So I had the tube fault turn on my VH4 in channel 4, so I bought a new set of tubes. However, the light is still on. Would anyone know what is wrong with my amp?
Thanks for the input. I'm getting a KT77 also to put into the rotation, but this is my first tube amp so i'm going through some honeymoon phase GASing (The WORST kind for my wallet). Further, i'm simply fascinated by the whole tube thing so I just want to get a feel for how different tubes...
Yeah, Eddie from Eurotubes has provided me with the most top notch and kind customer service by far. Doug is also responsive, but he does have a rather straightforward, no bullshit demeanor- but hey, I too would be annoyed from getting countless emails a day asking "What's the best tube for my amp?"
Hey man, just to follow up. I know this is a noob question, but I was looking for a creamback speaker and can't find one rated at 50W for the amp. Would it be fine to use a 65W one- the lowest wattage I can seem to find.
Thanks guys, it looks like Doug isn't taking back my tubes. My options as of now are to send them to valve queen to get the same Ruby 6L6GCM's but hotter, or to eurotubes for a JJ 6L6 (since they don't carry ruby).
My issue is that i've been having a hard time with communicating with...
Thank you for your post. I would love to get me a ZUUL. I have a boss NS-2 noisegate- how much of an improvement is the ZUUL compared to the boss to justify the price difference?
Thank you. So there's no way I can get another Ruby 6L6GCM's that will draw more current- so is it a property of the tube which determines how much current it draws? or would I be able to get another set of the same tube but one that draws a higher current?
Also, for the 5881's, I see you say...
Thanks man. My plate voltage read 364V when I had the Rub 6L6GCM's in, and around 344V when I had the Tung sols in. Also, sorry if I keep repeating the same question here, but i'm trying to sort this out quick so I can figure out what to do in regards to my RMA situation. By getting a "hotter"...
