I have the two Danger Danger albums with Andy Timmons, definitely good stuff. Also enjoyed those Neil Zaza videos, I'll have to check out more of his stuff.
I don't know many bands like these guys, but I'm sure there are some other good ones out there? Pete Lesperance is the most melodic guitar player I've ever heard. I can't believe stuff like this never got a lot of mainstream attention. The songs are so catchy, great vocals, and Pete's guitar...
That one I put together was around $1000+ and it basically has the same specs as a Charvel. I'd assume it would be the same for you, maybe even more because of UK shipping.
Warmoth stuff is so hit or miss though. The custom Strat I pieced together looked amazing but sounded like shit. I'd go with the Charvel. Much more consistency as far as getting a really good sounding guitar. The SD2 I had was awesome and you rarely ever hear any complaints about them.
Why would there be any problems? Companies like Hamer have been making 27 fret guitars since the 80's and Caparison has been doing the same since the mid 90's.
Only reason I can think of as to why some people might think it's weird is because they seem to be pretty old school with the gear they use. I've only ever seen them with Gibsons and Marshalls, and the occasional Laney.
All of their albums are great. Remission is my favorite though. They use a pretty cool tuning as well. AGCFAD for a lot of their songs, at least on the older albums.
