They are excellent guitars made by the original Kalamazoo Gibson guys. A lot of them are better than Gibson's who are notoriously inconsistent over the years. The headstocks and SC lower horns are slightly different to avoid legal issues with Gibson.
I thought they were funny as fuck when I first heard them. See and hear em once you basically have had enough as it get sold quick for me anyway. The novelty wore off fairly quick and now is just poking fun at the 80's pre aids and sex, drugs and rock & roll.
I like quartersawn myself and have had no issues with many necks I have. I do prefer quartersawn and one piece maple (no lam fretboard unless ebonay or rosewood)
and mom and pop shops cry about big retailers killing their business...not higher prices, crappy service and bad attitudes have a lot more to do with it ;)
I'll probably take heat for this but brick and mortar stores are useless to me. Nobody has to sell me anything, I know what I want and I...
Those are fairly accurate for USA production LP, standards and Traditional +'s...$1300-$1600 for decent used one.
I have 3 LP's, a trad +, 3PU BB7 and an R7 Goldtop that I bought used without ever touching. I still have them ;) I wasn't worried if I got a dud or not as I easily could sell them...
I wouldn't wait 2 years for anything if that is really the turnaround time. I'd buy one already made and for sale to forgo the waiting part.
CS Charvel is good top stuff!
Randy was THE guy who made me want to improve my playing, technique, theory and learn his stuff. He also was responsible for me geting into Classical music.
His playing still can give me goosebumps..the Afterhours stuff is awesome. I was luckt to see him in Feb 82, a few weeks before the accident.
not applicable to roasted necks.
I've head this claim before ans not entirely sure of its origin or if valid but I orded sever premium birdseye necks wot zero issues. I have flame necks, zero issues. The are plenty of guitars thta are 20-30 years old with birdseye necks that are perfectly fine...
I don't get coming here, posting a response and then baling out not reading any replies. Seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight and/or have establish a dialog with their customers or potential customer base.
I rarely buy brand new and buy used. I bought plenty of guitars I never touched before I bought them. If you get fair deals on used you won't lose any money of you don't bond with it. I've bought 3 LP's (2 CS RI's) and a CS Tele without touching them
I wouldn't have hung up on the asshole myself and torn into his ass right then and there... and requested one of two things...a full refund and/or a face to face visit just to see if he'd be a dickhead in person and willing to engage in fist-a-cuffs if he was a dickhead ;) I'd get a refund...
its USA Jackson, Ontario shop not San Dimas which usually are more sought after. I think it is priced on the high side for a bolt on guitar (DK1) that was refined with a painted neck...a soloist (neck-thru) would grab 1.2. To me the beauty for that era is the oiled necks and painting it kills...
click track is ALWAYS a YES and if any member of you band isn't comfortable with a click track don't waste your valuable studio time until they are comfortable with it....if they can't get comfortable with then seriously consider replacing them haha.
