Nice score. It seemed like everyone was playing Ibanez hack then. I always dug the maple boards and matching headstocks on those. I had an RG-760 from that era, was a great guitar.
I didn't like the 57's in the bridge position on my 2012 Trad + (profile pic) it was a bit harsh and top heavy. I could live with neck version but I tossed a set of DiMarzio 36th anniversary's which are awesome in that one
I haven't seen hi live since before Marching out was released.

Playing Gas Monkey in Dallas in June! I may have to hit this one
I also say the DC-5 with the graphic EQ. I have the wide-body combo and pair it with a wide-body Mesa 1x12 ext cab..so basically 2x12 in vertical set up. I bought mine on eBay for like $550...great and versatile 50w 6L6 amp
My favorite guitar body wood for ANY amount of gain is Mahogany. Swamp Ash and Ash are my next ones...alder and basswood last for me. I like bodies all mahogany, maple topped mahogany and an assortment of maple necks with maple boards, ebony and rosewood. If a guitar doesn't ring or sustain...
Looks great and I'm a fan of matching cabs to heads ;)
All that matters is if YOU like it and it works well for you. Its not like the Soldano cabs are POS cabs but for me mine came in last against 1960a, Bogner, VHT, and Splawn cabs I have. The caveat is I don't have a SLO to see how it matches...
I'm not a fan of Soldano 4x12's I have (5) 4x12 and the Soldano the weakest of the bunch...its just kinda average. My JCM800 1960A, Bogner, VHT FB 4x12's all are better cabs. My soldano cab is a front loader with V30's
If your company and products are already widely known NAMM is fairly useless today. It seems more like a fan demo facility and celebrity photo ops haha. If I was in the business asn just getting off the ground I'd go just to get my company name/product out.
my own rigs, Bogner 101B, VHT 50 CL, Splawn QR, Marshall JCM800 2203 and Mesa/Boogie DC5 ;)
I've always had an odd thing and never really tried to copy anyones tone, even in cover bands. I think folks put way too much time in getting the effects and tone of their hero down when the notes and...
what I would do is buy a used UL since you already know you like it. If you end up not liking it you can sell it and not lose any money if you bought a new UL.
I'm a big VHT fan, have 50CL and a FB 4x12 but they are not for everyone. I personally like the clarity so if you mask poor technique...
Did thye have the SS head/amp? $599 is good deal really. If I already didn't have five 4x12's I'd be down with it. The best deal I ever got on a quality cab was $500 shipped for a Bogner 4x12 with v30's....thing looked brand new and still had tags on the handle.
