Any chance I could get you to do a quick recording comparing just a simple delay through parallel vs serial loop? I've got analysis paralysis if ya know what I mean.... I think the decision for me comes down to the loops.

My guess is most multi effects units (if not all) can't be split... you choose a loop and any effects within that unit run through that loop. It also means another pair of cables..... I believe it's the time based effects you'd want through parallel, so you get a "wet/dry"... only the...

I've heard of people not liking parallel loops, but it makes sense that it could sound better having your dry signal not run through your delay/chorus, I've never had one of either that didn't color the sound... Can't remember what the complaint was about the parallel though....?
