I need to make a pickup cavity bigger - what tool?

Use a router with a template bearing bit. You can buy a humbucker template or make your own from plex. Here is a control cavity template I made on a CNC router and used on a Strat body.

    Bonamassa sucks!

I thought his Strat tone was so much better than his current LP tone, just sayin'....

How does a pickup suddenly become microphonic?

That's cuz we live in the desert, we've seen the devastation first hand from some idiot who didn't have common sense not to leave his bass in the trunk in July...  If you don't want to go through the trouble of repotting, you may want to try putting a piece of dense foam under the...

Anybody here actually use Krank amps?

Oh, as a followup: I did buy a Nineteen80 head in late November 2011 and for rock, hard rock, anything short of full on metal I am still totally loving this amp after 10 months of playing it almost daily. Also, trying to get a Revolution head to fluff191 to do a review on his youtube channel...

Anybody here actually use Krank amps?

Fair enough. Some of the posts a year ago were very inflammatory, I guess that's what got me cranked up.

Anybody here actually use Krank amps?

The Shiva I tried was the 6L6 model, in about 2005-06. I know of no amp that everyone universally loves or hates. I just don't see the point of threads bashing a certain name brand, and judging the character of people who may have a different preference than your own.

Anybody here actually use Krank amps?

OMG ... resurrected from a year ago! To clarify, the Shiva has nice cleans and probably the best reverb I've ever heard. Spent about an hour with it at volume, the dirt channel absolutely sucks with or without pedals in front. Played the Shiva side-by-side with a Rev1, first time playing...

    Do speakers really break in?

Depends on the speaker though I could not tell you why. I do notice a significant change in Eminence Legend V12-16's, but I did not notice much if any change in the Swamp Thang 12-8's.

Maybe a stupid question, but amp recommendation please?

I took a Krank Nineteen80 JR head on a fly-in. Great cleans, but might be a little too loud at 50 watts, two 5881's.

Dimarzio Tone Zone-Hearing opposing descriptions, help!

The Tone Zone works great for beefing up very bright guitars. I have it in a couple maple neck, ash and alder body 25.5 scale guitars. I do not like it in dark sounding guitars however, gets a little too muddy. Great sounding pickup with a lot of character and harmonics, works very well in the...

    Eminence Legend V1216

They are great at medium to high volume in a 4x12 once they're broken in. Can be a little stiff when new. Pretty even EQ response.
