I own a Hedgehog, and to be fair, I was initially blown away by the clean tones, but underwhelmed with the gain. That being said, when I finally had the opportunity to play it with my whole band, it shined. I find that the older I get, and the better I play, it actually sounds better to my ear...
I'm on the hunt for the right solderless cable kit to wire this project up. I've looked at George L's, and Lava so far, but I'm obsessed with That Pedal Show on YouTube, and Dan swears by the Evidence Audio SIS cables. Solid center core. Makes for a great connection, but wondering if it's much...
That's exactly what I do. I run a Suhr Hedgehog, and a Bogner Shiva pristine clean, and use a KOT pedal for light grit tones, and a JHS Andy Timmins for my heavier sounds. I have a JHS Morning Glory that I use if I ever feel like just adding a little top end to my sound. So, no High Gain metal...
Question... I have struggled with using my Keeley 4 Knob Compressor, and the fact that it brings the level of noise up so much when used in conjunction with my KOT pedal, I actually avoid using it. I have always tried to keep my compressor first in my signal path to try and eliminate the issue...
It isn't fair to compare a Suhr or Tom Anderson to a Nash. Regardless of price range, and the fact that they both have a strat body shape, they are completely different animals for different players, and styles. While the Suhr and TA are precision instruments, they are not vintage sounding, or...
I have to note that I am running the 6L6 Shiva Clean as a pedal platform at this time. I'm running it in stereo with my Suhr Hedgehog 50 which sounds ridiculous. I believe I mentioned in an earlier comment that I'm using the Suhr head with it's matching open back 2x12, and I'm currently using...
Great to hear your feedback! Did you have yours loaded with the Vintage 30's? You mentioned the Shiva sized cab, was it the taller one with the handles on the top and side, with casters, or the shorter one that only has the handle on the top? Thanks again!
So, you don't find the Creamback H75 too bright or Hi-Fi sounding? I thought that's why more people seem to be using the M65, it seem a little warmer. That is why I had thought of pairing one up with one of my existing Vintage 30's. Thanks for the feedback!
I was interested in do the same 3 combinations you've mentioned here to see which best suited my style and sound. Curious to know which combinations you felt were best for Cleans vs Crunch tones? I'm intrigued by the high clarity of the Alnico Cream, and the Creamback H75, but I'm afraid of...
Well I finally got myself the 6L6 Shiva NR. Trying to choose a cab that matches. Thinking opened back 212. I have to decide if the V30's are the way to go. I'm looking for some nice cleans with some headroom. Any suggestions? I'm thinking about mixing a V30 with a Creamback m65 or H75.
I own a Hedgehog, and I agree that it sounds like the way to go for you. The clean sounds are awesome, and you can really quite easily customize up to 4 presets. Another fantastic feature is that there is a very useful level control knob on the back of the amp that acts like a master volume...
Are there 2 different size open back 2x12 Bogner cabs? I thought that they were the same size with different backs....the 212C and 212O...or does the "s" at the the end of the part number mean small? I've also seen part numbers with a "p"... guessing it stands for ported? Not sure.
I just bought a 6L6 Bogner Shiva head, and I'm trying to make the decision to buy the open or closed 212 cab. I currently have 2 2x12 cabs, Mesa closed with V30's, and a Suhr open back. I'm leaning towards the open back because I'm playing my amps pretty clean these days, and it seems like the...

I do have a few good amps, and I absolutely love my Suhr Hedgehog! You pretty much nailed it on the head. I'm not a fan of amp modelers at all. I believe the way I started this thread off was saying how my first plan was to get the suhr reactive load and possibly the torpedo cab. Perhaps when I...
OK....Left turn.... I called my local misoc dealer to inquire about the Live.... He's doing a great job making the case for me to get the Studio (at double the price, I would expect no less from him). He has brought a few cool bells and whistles to my attention that change things a bit. I just...
Is it possible to play pedals directly into the Live and use the IR cabs, mics, and tube sim to go direct into FOH with good results? What are the opinions on the loadbox feature in the Live vs the Suhr quality wise?
I have to be honest...maybe it's his amp, but they all sound crappy to me. The Fryette has some really cool features, I'm just a bit gun shy to stray from the Suhr or Two Notes.
I think that maybe sticking with my original option is the way to go. Using the Suhr Reactive Load as my load box and...
