Had one, if your drummer plays hard or you really need to crank the amp, you're going to be frustrated as hell with the 8100. The Ultra I and a few others mentioned is going to have no problem with a band situation, sounds better (I know, it's subjective) and adds an extra channel. Now, it may...
I don't like the flat contour/top myself. Haven't seen how much they are going for used, but right now if I could get a used 'other' model PRS for the same amount as a new S2, I'd buy used. Just what I'm used to I guess.
I don't know man, sounds like a bunch of 0s and 1s to me. :D I know it's way too early, but am curious as to your thoughts on the whole Kemper thing so far.
Here's my million dollar idea for floyd rose parts guys - make a set of trem posts and knife edges on the base plate that don't dull or have wear issues. I could give a shit if my block is made of granite, nobody is going to care if my trem goes out of tune.
I have a HR50, great amp, but pretty simple... the + has two channels, the HR50 is a one channel deal. High/low inputs, fx loop. Loop doesn't have any extra controls other than in/out, so it's likely pedal level fx won't work well.
Keep in mind on the HR vs Jet City stuff, the HR does have...
Boy, I sure heard the lack of aliasing on the Metallica Axe-FX II powered Antarctica show and the Grammys.
There are a lot of threads about aliasing on the Kemper board. It's not an issue past I believe 1.6 firmware and it wasn't happening for all profiles.
Mark IIIs are bargains IMHO - I haven't noticed any stripe color commanding top dollar either, unlike the early mesa rectos. I could be wrong, somebody correct me if I am.
One last thing about the Axe II that drives me crazy - every time they come up with a new firmware version, it's the game changing be-all end all perfect tone. And if you ever tried an axe II, the first thing they say is "Is it the new firmware?" because if you didn't try the newest one then...

Video I did a few months ago - Soldano and profile I pulled of it, same cab, didn't quite get the same volume which I know throws off perception, but fairly close IMHO for a cheap solid state amp.
Just muddying the waters further
Well crapola Pete. That throws a wrench into it for a couple reasons. First I like the idea of not having a heavy tube amp in a rack. Second, it seems the PowerRack is in stock just about everywhere and the Rack isn't (and I'm impatient).
What I was thinking is to build a cab that's 4x12 size...
I'm late to the party again, had my Kemper for right at two years now. Still the best gear related purchase I have made in a long time. Couple random things that may or may have not been discussed:
When you profile an amp, you can compare the kemper's profile with the actual amp right then and...
Good luck on the future selling of dozens of amps, at least around here. BTW, I will sell you a Custom Ground Up Build Howard Dumble Amp for only $30,000.
By the way, the amp may sound like the voice of God bouncing off Kate Upton's delicious curves, but it's still not what it was advertised as. I think I'm going to build some Dumble clone kits from Ceriatone and put some Dumble logos on them.
This is all sorts of fucked up. Saying an amp is a 'custom ground up build Mark Cameron" is NOT the same as an amp built with Cameron's mods by someone else. And it has a Cameron logo on it, which in normal person world, would mean it was a CAMERON AMP. Not cameron inspired, or a copy of. I can...
I had a UL and a CLX at the same time, preferred the CLX - was a little more compressed, and I just prefer EL34 voicing over KT88s. Both were awesome amps. I also dig the CLs, no clean channel on the CLs just two rage channels but still sweet and full of VHT tone.
Used to use a rackmount recto as a power amp for my Kemper. Also made for a good backup. But after probably 50 or so gigs with the Kemper, I'm feeling pretty good about it. My backup now is a Yamaha DG stomp and I may try it with a two notes CAB pedal.
I'd keep the monster boost because you can't always count on the soundman. I'm in two bands - one is two guitars, other has a keyboard player. I use about 2db boost but also with a mid boost too so it cuts through the mix and is a little louder overall.
