Maybe grab a baritone? The added scale length should de-Lurch you and take care of any dick/balls ratio issues   I’m a mere 6’1 so I feel pretty good with a LP.
Going to post in here again.. I remember when Steve got what I believe was his first SLO and said EVERYTHING else was for sale! The Camerons, modded Marshalls, everything ;)
I remember when he gave someone a really nice high-end guitar just to be a nice guy. Yes, that actually happened...
Painful news to hear. It sounded like he was doing better but that just goes to show how strong and positive he stayed. Sending prayers to his family. He was a good guy and very knowledgeable. I’m sure he helped a lot of people here. He will definitely be missed.
Rest in peace , Steve
I have a MIM tele. Nice guitar but the fret ends are awful and stick way out, especially in the winter. Going to file them down one of these times. The necks are always the difference between Mexican and USA Fenders for me.
Excellent post, Brent. Lot of great information on the different versions of the XTC
Per our conversations, I'm super interested in the 20th but still not sure I'm ready to dump the Classic. When it's loud it seems to come alive like no other amp I've owned and I love the Blue...
Good point by Monkey Man; if something is still hanging with/outperforming the competitors and hasn't needed yearly updates or new hardware then it must be doing something very right. Solid platform for sure.
I prefer the Standout because it sounds a bit more natural and seems to retain the body of the unboosted amp tone a bit better. Both sound killer though.
I have a Rocket EQ that can do some cool stuff, I just need to spend more time with it.
I'm in the same boat. Ready to stop buying amps, at least for awhile (ha) and try a Kemper. My hesitation is due to wanting to use it with regular guitar cabs and it seems there are more cons than pros when using it this way.
I know it can be done with merged profiles but it seems pretty...
I only post on TGP with very specific responses and topics that pretty much stick to the gear at hand, if I have something to contribute.
You have to know your demographic. That board offers some great info because of the huge user base but prepare to walk on eggshells while there and put up...
The Bogner Ecstasy pedals basically are the preamps of their respective amps channels (blue, red) but I don't know that they're considered as actual pres because of the voltage they run at which is standard 9V and then internally stepped up to around 24V or so...
You might want to check out...
There is a user on TGP who does great work and is well known there for his builds.
His user name on the forum is JNEPO1 and his email is ijnepo.designs@gmail.com. Should be cool posting it here..it's in his sig.
*edit - judging by the name, it appears to be the same guy Flavatrocious...
Yeah, it's absolutely brutal in the comments section. I wanted to do the YouTube thing as a musical outlet pretty seriously, even started buying basic production gear and coming up with "original" ideas for a channel but after seeing what YT has become over the past few years I'm not sure I...
I really liked the TC50 I played. It didn’t have the massiveness of a recto or the searing attack of my Mark but it has a nice growly, angry rock sound and was tight. I have a clip somewhere of my buddy playing it loud and it really sounds great. Nice snarl and a different take on the Mesa...
I ran into this same issue before I bought a decent splitter. I used to use a regular Morley AB and it just sounded like shit no matter how I set the amps. Bought a proper box with phase switch and isolated output and all is well. My only other advice is turn the gain down a bit on both amps...
I use a Dig and a Carbon Copy so a I guess that’s three technically. And my Ventris has a delay in it so I can get some pretty over the top delay happening.  Honestly I’m good with none at all or just a touch of slapback but it sure is fun to get lost in the ambient stuff.
