The Guitar Grimoire series is really good. Check out some of Rick Beato's intro to theory vids on Youtube. He did a good job of laying out the basics and explaining it clearly in a way that makes sense. Get a grip on the concepts with stuff like his videos and then find a good book and just...
Yep, it’s got the higher quality Helix stuff and the legacy effects from the POD HD/M Series effects which is great because that old Tube Driver model was absolutely killer.
I wish I would’ve bought a PRS McCarty when they were first released but I was a po’ boy. Hard for me to justify spending $4300 on a new one now.
The good thing like others have said is that the lower end stuff is really great now. There really aren’t bad guitars anymore but on the flip side...
I have an original Bogner Red and an old Marshall Guv’nor. Like them both and they’re very good at what they do. I’m on the list for a Kingsley Harlot so we’ll see if they live up to hype. My expectations are pretty high.
That's right.. I think you and I talked about this before I bought mine but I forgot.
Might try a pair of 77s along with a pair of old Tung-Sol 34s I have laying around.
So what are the best tubes for the 2555x? I still have whatever came in mine and it sounds great, no issues. But I know you can experiment with a lot of different types in this amp. I've liked KT77s in other amps, anyone try them in a Jube?
I think a very cool amp would be a Bogner Ecstasy Blue channel 50 watter in a Helios/plexi style headshell with a great loop. Footswitchable 2nd master, maybe a pre-eq and excursion switch or even the depth control and punch switch from the helios. The mini Ecstasy looks sort of cool but I...
This. Picked up a Switch over Christmas to play with my kids and just bought Zelda last weekend. It's really great!
Gear-wise, I haven't done much this winter. Just had fretwork done on my MIM strat and a TBX tone pot and 25db mid boost installed. I'm actually disappointed with it. :(...
My favorite Boogie tone I’ve experienced in person is the Quad with an EL34 power section and an old metal grill Mesa cab. Your clip sounds rad! Congrats
I like some things about TGP. Good effects section and such.. but I was almost banned once for saying “dick butt” in reference to the Ceriatone Klon klone (Centura). Ha
I love the Timmy but I wish it could cut just a tad more low end. Killer circuit though, it doesn’t do the crispy mids thing which can sound great for the right application but it can be annoying too.
For tight metal boosting, I’ve never played anything that sounds quite as good as the Kranz...
I can’t find it now either, or the topic I posted here after seeing the video.
If I remember correctly, it wasn’t mentioned in the video title. Dave just said somewhere during the vid that we were hearing the new Friedman Celestions.
So cool! Like a VH4 (or 2?) with X88 functionality. Want
Hoping it’s got the VH2/4 sound and not some hybrid of V and another model. I liked the Fokker and Dmoll but VH4 is the Diezel sound for me.
I bought Nameless after a free trial. Really amazed at how realistic it is.
I really want to check out the proprietary BE-100 sim but I don’t have a Universal Audio interface.
My go tos in the past have been Guitar Rig and Amplitube. Both solid with a lot to offer.
This!
The upcoming mini 25w seems alright but I wish it was a 50w, single channel (Blue only) and maybe excursion settings and 2nd master in the Helios plexi style headshell.
