i emailed the sales guys over at Lace and asked them about specific sets of duallys to see what they suggested. thanks for reminding me about Lace.....i had some of their pickups 10 years ago, but forgot all about them.
rio grande dirty harry pickups are supposed to be it, but i hear they also have a bunch of high end bite all of the time.
dimarzio super distortion was my first thought for straight up humbucker, then maybe bill lawrence?
i have a warmoth body superstrat that is in need of pickup upgrade, and i was looking for something that can coil split and do a good single coil sound....without much hum.
any ideas?
my guess is crunchlab second. i like them both for different reasons. i'm thinking the second one would be "better" if i had to pick just one....you could always dial in more bass if needed.
i think the video is entertaining and funny...like they are cool enough to not take themselves so seriously. cool.
on the flip side, there are not breaking new ground with any of the styles they play. i wish they would have just stayed the course with the Ninja metal jam. just my thought...
Doug made the marshall JMD:1 modelling amp sound so good that i bought one....then got rid of it when i realized that it sounded nothing like him playing it.
i got this bass head in a trade last week and i have to say i'm impressed.....it sounds VERY Ampeg SVT.

i dig it! maybe bring the vocals down in the mix when he goes high....and bring down the distortion on his vocals.
overall the music reminds me of my favorite bands that are no longer around. RIP Pantera
listened again with some consumer headphones (ATH-M45's) and my choice is now:
D, E, F which is crazy cause i didn't like those at all with my pc speakers.
listening again with my studio headphones (ATH-M50's) i get a different representation. my choices then change to:
G for most cut...
i liked A best, but maybe cause i heard it first. i also liked G. i would pass on the rest of them.
D,E,F sounded almost the same on my speakers. didn't love any of them, but they were ok.
i thought the third one had a little something in the high end pick chatter that made it slightly different than the other two. but honestly, i thought it was all the same exact amp on first listen through.
i would take any of those amps right now.
which cabinet and mic were you using? i...
no offense taken.
yeah, i was talking ebay prices, didn't look at fractal's prices.....i presumed they were the same.
the II might be better, but i see a whole lot of complaining about the updates. it's good to see updates, but if it jacks up your tone, then it ain't good. the ultra...
