Watching Jer's video now. Sounding really good with "in-room" audio. Really looking forward to it with a mic. Jer, can you do some stuff with the Feel on 1 and Bright on in the modes please?
And Jer's shirt nearly steals the show. :D
Writing off UA is a mistake. They’re interfaces and preamps are excellent. I will freely admit to not being impressed with OX so far, but I’m really souring on IRs and speaker sims in general.
Research in to microphones and mic techniques. I have never been a fan of the SM57 and have honestly...
I hear the graininess too in clips go the Artemis/Gemini and Colossus. It's the one thing that's keeping me from going headlong in to KSR zealotry as the other attributes of Kyle's stuff are outstanding. I'm hoping the Juno may be smoother or that the graininess can be dealt with on the Artemis.
Reaxis is the best plugin I've used. Helix Native is a close second, but I'll freely admit that beyond the Mark IV lead channel sim, I have grown dissatisfied with Helix. Check out the various Thermionik offerings as well. Good trial options and the tones are up with the better plugins I've...
Never heard of the 926, but that has really captured my interest. And yeah, you have to watch for the displays on the 1128s. Sorry I didn't post more about the unit. Just had time to do a post and run last night and wasn't able to come back until now.
I wonder what the tonal differences are between various mattress types? Like does polyester differ from latex and do latex types sound different? Would a cotton shikibuton be too much for a dark amp?

Great trick. Glad it's working for you.
Excellent clips! Digging the tune too.
The Mark IV may be my favorite amp of all that I've played and heard...
...and I'm actually preferring the Orthos in these clips. Both the miced and video examples. That openness of the Orthos is pretty damn cool.
One suggestion I'll make as...

9+ years later and THIS VERY WEEK I've been looking for deals on used 1128s, 1140s, and 2240s.
I'm not sure if I should be happy that I knew myself very well those years ago or bothered that I may not have changed much since.
Curt Mangan and IQS were new to me when I dove in to my recent testing. Didn't end up trying any, but like you, I was a bit surprised by something new after all my time playing.

And according to a guy on sevenstring.org that says he was talking with the Maxwatt folks at NAMM, there will be two versions. A 50 watt that is DR504 on one channel, Fortin on the other, and a 100 watter that is DR103/Fortinwatt on the two channels it has.
Sign me the fuck up for that.
Just went back to DR Hi Beams/Nickel Lo Riders last year after 9 years with Elixir Nanos.
I originally started out testing different gauges on my S8 just to see what was what, and in buying, found it was cheaper to pick up some D'Addario singles to experiment with. When I compared the treble...
Sounded damn good. I'm looking forward to then upcoming videos and the 7 string one especially. Amp sounded tighter than I would have thought. How would you compare it in tightness to your VHT?

I'm keeping my eye on this speaker. The EVM 12L is probably my favorite speaker, but I've found myself wanting a more even and slightly more guitar speaker-esque version of it. I have no idea what the Copperback sounds like, but the...
