You guys have to try this. No shit. Best thing I've ever done for playing a tube rig in a small space. Kicks my attenuator's ass.

I leaned an old crib mattress up against my 4x12. Turn the volume up to get the tubes working, dial in the presence to taste to compensate for the damping, and INSTANT EPIC TONE.

Although Comfort King makes a fine mattress they do have a strange thing going on in the mids that I just couldn't dial out.

I used to scour yard sales in hopes of finding NOS tube treasures. Now I head out on garbage day to see what's been discarded curbside. Pro tip : go to the wrong side of the tracks in your town and seek out the most stain soaked specimen you can find. Those have extra mojo.
