    Now: NCD. Mills Acoustics content!

What about Orange 4x12's?, or an UberKab? Those are my favorite 4x12's.

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

So you're saying raise the volume? If the mids are lacking and the high end and low end are fine, you're gonna drown out the bassist. Oh wait, f' the bassist! Raise the volume!

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

Hmm... the EH's darkend up the amp, they tamed the top end shrill I was getting (V1 and V2). When I powered it on, that's the first thing I noticed. Perhaps the original tubes a crap? There was a Sovtek 12ax7wa in V1 I switch out with EH like this ---> (V1 and V2) both have those Ruby 12ax7...

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

I approve this statment. :D I have every drop of gain (usable gain) that can come out of this beast maxed out, and it's almost there. I don't think I'm going to be able to get it there with pre tubes because after a couple pre swaps nada really helped the gain, though the amps tone changed a...

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

BOLD Yes, that's what happening here. Highs are killing my ears :aww: , and the mids are... there's just so much of them. I'm having a hard time finding a blance. Damn my ears still feel fatigued, with a slight ring... I was jamming the 's' hit out of the amp though. I feel like...

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

Do you mean RUBY 12AX7AC5HG+? Because I can't find 12AX7C5HG+. <- not trying to be a douche brutha, I just couldn't find them. In the past, I've stayed away from Greenback's because I didn't like them with the Powerball. ;) And I think I've gotten so comfortable with v30's, everything else...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

I'll say this, with the Herbert, it's VERY EASY to get lost in the mix. I think it's an amp that needs to be tweaked while youre jamming with a drummer and bassist. When I first and only time I jammed with my band when I had the herbert, I did the WTF, where's am I (with the setting I used...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

The Herbert has "crushing tone." It just sounds massive! It sounds like "cd tone." It's a really powerful amp. I think you would like a Rivera TBR-1SL (other than the ENLG SE). If you can find one, buy it! That's another amp I wish I had never let go. I think Rivera still has some NOS TBR-2SL...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

^the only thing about the Cobra, on ch 3, the less gain you use the thinner it sounds. It's a super crunch amp and I really like it, but it's an amp that needs the gain turned up so the amp sounds full. It's a fault in my book. It doesn't maintain it's fat tight tone with less gain, it sounds...

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

 It's gives it a tad more hair. What pre's are you running? I have two extra EH 12ax7eh Russian pre's, would those be good any where? I really don't care if the clean gets more gain, I think it could use it (for my style of music anyway), I just want a tad bit more more saturation...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

Why not good for for an Axe FX II with a Marshall EL34 100 Stereo. If I had the cash, that's what I would be rocking. I don't like VHT Power amps, way to tight, and Mesa's are too loose. Marshall is just right. IMO From what I've heard (seen) the Axe will and can pretty much do anything you...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

Negative. It's more hype than anything. I've owned a factory shipped mkIIc+ head, a mkIIc Mesa modded to c+ head and a factory shipped mkIIc+ combo with EVM. The best Mark I've owned was a Mark III coliseum Blue. That damn thing was insane. It's only one of a hand full of amps I regert letting...

Diezel Herbert v VH4S v Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead (help)

My CLX was one of the rare combos with P100E's. I hated the p100e's for sure. I LOVED the CLX. I'm sure it has everything to do with the El34's. Everything I didn't like about the UL the CLX fixed. I dropped in some super high gain pre's and boosted the front end with a keeley and it was a...

ENGL SE with EL34's. That's a beast, and with it's mid boost option it will cover everything you said plus modern tonez!z1!z!1!!z!! But of the options you listed I've always wanted a VH4. I have a UL, I love it. I've owned one Herbert, 4 ENGL SE's, and this is my 3rd VHT UL (also one CLX so...

VHT UL possible to "jump" the loop for added gain?

I was wondering if it was possible to "jump" the loop for added gain in my UL? Would it have to be in Series or Parallel? I run my TOV with the loop "jumped," which allows me to dial back my gain knob a bit. I prefer the "gain" tone that way. Roland
