I had a pair of brown base teslas in my Splawn QR....never sounded better. Was smoother and sustained very well. Those tubes are worth the money back then...not sure what they are priced at nowadays.

I had both the X100B and Carvin Legacy 1. Legacy clean channel was awesome...lovely. Distortion side for me was better with 6L6s and a good overdrive pushing it. Was still not a metal amp, but smooth leads for days.
