Even if an independant tech shot a vid taking apart Ed's Marshall piece-by-piece and explaining everything in intricate detail.... we would STILL argue about whether it was modded or not
Obviously back in the day they were used to drive amps harder and get more gain, but now every amp from practice amps, to valve heads, to modelers have heaps of gain on tap.
Obviously a lot of people love EMGs etc... but I just think what are they doing tone-wise, now that amps don't really...
I play in function and wedding bands, cover bands, acoustic duos, solo wedding background music, the occasional sight-reading at a local musical and teaching in the week an schools and privately.
I wouldn't like to say how much; it's not a fortune, but it's a good enough sum to live well...
Seeing as people just want to see him playing guitar and to see HIM then he ticks those boxes. Along with his amazing playing he does robot dancing, nunchuck sections and plays hectic slap bass too, so his shows have variety in that respect.
But yeah, it would be cool to see him with an actual...
Listen to the riff Hetfield does on his own at 0.55 in the vid - what kind of weird guitar sound is that?! It's like single coils but with loads of mush on top.
Even if it is Fractal stuff there's SO many people getting amazing guitar tones out of it I can't believe this is what Metallica of...
People who say there's "No good music nowadays" are either just bitter, close-minded, or too lazy to give other genres and artists a chance.
All the old blues players such as BB King, Albert King, Peter Green, Buddy Guy etc etc are just boring to me. I'm sure they were great in their day, but...
I was wondering if anyone has used these, then gone onto something else like Monster/Lava etc... and noticed a big difference?
Mainly because I'm of the opinion that once you get a quality cable from a reputable manufacturer then that's your cables sorted and anything else more expensive...
It's an old BOSS 8 track with a CD drive. I use the in-built drum patterns as best I can really, they're not brilliany but they do the job.
Cheers for listening!

Check them out and tell me what you think - the new one "Quality Time" is all done with just one cheap Fender acoustic too.
Thanks!
I'm sure a piece of gear from Fractal can be made to sound as good or as bad as you want - it's all about editing the presets.
When I got my GSP I was shocked as to how bad the presets sounded, but after going into them and turning everything off other than the amp sim and building them back up...
I have a Liquifire in the neck position of my LP Classic (Recommended by Larry DiMarzio himself in a YouTube comment, he seems to reply them to a lot)!
It's the most syrup-y neck pickup I've had in my LP and my favourite so far; definitely get one if you want a really creamy sound!
The first bit of shred in the original comment sounded a bit sped up to me. Bit high pitched like he played it really well, but then they cheekily sped up the tape?
They used loads of different amps at the same time and dropped them in and out for different tracks and parts according to an interview I read recently.
Sounds really good and the last few albums have been brilliant, so they're on a bit of a streak it seems!
