My EVH build pics (for those interested in the timeline)...
took a month to prep and paint the body..
1) mocked up body/neck/pickup to make sure guitar would fit together. Glad I did this step because found out the back of the FR block was hitting a little bit of wood. Had to remove some...
..because
A) can't return them, they were near impossible to find new from an authorized dealer
B) since its on a FR guitar, the only time you use them is to get the general tuning before you lock down the nut
C) already drilled the holes for these tuners into back of neck
Since its on a FR...
bought these really expensive schaller davinci tuners because their look.

PROS:
Looks
CONS:
*Price
*They were a bitch to install lined up correctly
*Difficult to turn
*Difficult to tune.. Lots of "backlash" or "slop" in the gears where you have to go...

They lost 2 packages worth >$250ish last year on me...

Heres an example of the green channel after the mod at a gig.

I have both and love both. I tend to use the evh50w far more because it's half the weight and almost half the size.. easier to take to gigs and band practices.
I modded my evh50w to make the channels more even
Body is from warmoth.. Ordered it a few years ago. Been swapping necks on this guitar about every year.. Started with a warmoth neck and didnt like it and was swapping my musikraft neck between my Franky replica and this warmoth body. Placed a order last year for another musikraft neck...
