wow nice guitar!
What wood is the body? the back is exactly what I had in mind for my cheap warmoth build. Do you have any clues to how he achieved that look on the backside w/ the black/blue distressed look?
What do you think are the best bang-for-buck guitars and amplifiers <$1000?

Warmoth unfinished showcase body w/ musikraft neck (I did a recent build for right under $1k)
anyone try the musikraft EVH contour?
I've ordered from them in the past and I'm very happy with their quality. Last neck I ordered was their standard profile. Was tinkering with the idea of trying the EVH profile? What do you think?
I'm not sure.. but I love my musikraft neck I ordered. I am going to try ordering an EVH profile neck next.
I sold my warmoth neck and I'm using musikraft from now on.
I dont know why I just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading this whole thread but all I'm going to say is why the fuck would you buy a guitar sight-unseen?
cable length is a big tone killer but if you're just at home practicing, it's not that big of a deal. If you want a "better" tone, typically less cable length can help. Use your highest quality cable as your guitar->pedalboard cable. 2nd of all, use a pedal with a decent input stage as your...
I'm convinced >75% of tone comes from the neck (as far as the body/neck woods are concerned). I prefer birdseye maple necks FWIW. As far as bodies, I like strats in ash usually.
[his best guitar tones IMO]

my main complaint with the VH albums is the mixes really are lackluster. Really no low end at all.. But Ed's playing is what makes them so great.
Which is better and why?
I purchased a German made Schaller Floyd Rose 3 years ago and the low E string fine tuner is definitely looser than the other fine tuners. Has anyone experienced inconsistent fine tuners on these? While playing, it's pretty easy to accidentally hit the fine tuner...
I wanted a 1 piece ash which is unlikely to find in the showcase. But yeah - I might end up just getting a 2 piece one. Or might even get Alder instead?
What are the sound differences b/w alder vs ash?
Like a woodgrain filler? is that the same as a sealer?
I used this stuff on my evh replica before I painted the spray paint.

Looking to maybe build a cheap warmoth soloist guitar using Tru Oil on the finish? Any of you have good results?
$320 muikraft neck
$320 warmoth body (unfinished)
$80 dimarzio bridge pickup (not sure which one yet)
$0 neck pickup (use whatever I have laying around in the parts box)
$15...
I used to mix FOH and monitors for concerts in upstate NY and recently I've been producing my own instrumental rock album. I quickly learned how different FOH vs studio mixing is.. Concepts are the same. However, the way you implement certain things and their outcome are much different. I...
Thanks guys !
(from wikipedia) idk I feel the mix was terrible on the new album. I saw VH live 3 times on that tour and his tone was pretty good live. Sounds to me like the production was overly complicated with how it was mixed and just lack of experience. I believe they had their...
Well ended up scoring a black EVH50W for a deal I could not pass up tonight..
I'm pretty impressed overall with this amplifier.. Only things that bug me about the amp is the jump in volume between ch1 vs ch2 and the footswitch is HUGE. The footswitch is almost as big as the amp itself :lol...
