ALRIGHT dude... Ima try it.. :gethim:
I have a feeling that me and you are on the same page though so here we go again... more speaker swapping action goin on.
Ima order me some cl80's and hope this works out. Fingers crossed.
oh..also, is you cabinet front loaded or rear loaded?
:aww:
uhhh... im getting GAS again  :aww:
No mid spike or harsh highs..?
AND.. how does it handle low end? Im going to be running it through a herbert CRANKED. And you know how bass heavy that amp is..
Hmmm.. I keep hearing a lot of good stuff about the cl'80's. I think i may have to give them a try. I have 1 in my 1X12 and LOVE it! But at high volumes it may have seemed kinda bright...? maybe not. Alot of people say that they are ideal for 1X12's and 2X12's for some reason...
As the tone quest continues id like to explore more options in the area of speakers in my diezel cab.
Thus far ive tried the:
Custom eminence- Not bad, Very warm and dark. No bite and absolutely no grainyness. Lots of low end handling, but not to great for heavy rythym stuff.
Hempcones- Grainy...
So i tried the Hempcone X GK100 combo and im not sure i totally like it.
Im looking "tonewise" for something that has a very tight low end and accentuates the low/midrange frequencies that is very warm and has only a little bit of high end.
It seems like the speakers im now using are a bit...
Ive played all 3 and they each offer a little something unique.
For large loud concerts i really find the herbert to be the sweetest loudest biggest monster for that singing lead tone that i go for.
VH4 is definitely tighter and more stiff than the Herbert or the Einstein, but still sounds...
Tubes can definitely be glowing and be bad. 100% sure of that.
Ive had that exact problem with my herbert when i first got it.
USUALLY its just a tube or two. Powertubes.
Change them and if not...
Oh..haha..Thanks
I was running 2 cables out of both the 8 ohm outs into each of the cabinet inputs last night at practice.
Can this affect the tone etc..? Because im guessing i was either overloading or underloading the amp.
I wasnt necessarily all that pleased with it for some reason last night..
So this is a photo of the back of my new diezel RL cabinet with hempcones and the GK100's.
How should i connect this to my herbert stereo? Do i use both the 4, 8, or 16 ohm outs of the herbert into the cabinet?
Thanks in advance.
Rob
Hmm.. i need to try one of these...
I always strayed away from other units because of setup and the process of having to learn how to program another unit. The reason i didnt go with one is because of all the bad reviews on HC.
..i know HC isnt the be all and all of gear but there was a...
Whys that?
Also, whats everyone think of the Marshall DSL 100's?
Got a guy that wants to trade one for my ibanez prestige 3120.. I think i should do it since im gassing for another marshall
I have a rocktron prophecy and all is well
The thing is... any effects unit you get thats halfway decent i feel like there wont be much of a difference.
The heart of the tone i feel is in the amp.
Am i wrong? Anyone have experiences with units severely coloring their tone?
Right on bro!
Fired up my Marshall JVM last night and laid down some killer tracks for the newest instrumental song. Playing that thing is just butter
Cant wait to post the tune here!!
As much as i love my Diezel, that JVM just rocks my world
Taste is subjective and tone just the same. I personally have never liked V30 speakers and have yet to enjoy any tones ive heard out of ANY cabinet with them in it. The best though ive heard of them was the diezel. And im not just saying that. BUT ive liked other diezel combination cabs...
Oh yea! And Slacker radio.
I have an Iphone;) Not to mention i work at At&t part-time.
Killswitch engage at the Gym!! Sometimes Andy timmons radio or whatever i feel like.
