I play loud too. I think my lowest wattage amp is a Splawn Competition, or a few Trainwreck clones and most are either 50, 60 or 100 watts, and I play loud with my band (Stage volume is too loud) and at home I'm lucky to be able to play loud (my ears aren't lucky anymore though) . .Anyway, I...
Just a headsup but I own over 20 tube amps and have played for years and play every night, and have never once had a PI tube die.... Good luck though! :)

Hey thanks for posting that. . I've been listening to that guy's clips for 45 minutes solid after I heard his playing and tones there. His SLO100 clips kick ass too tonewise. All of his videos kick ass playing-wise.

Yepper, my bassist of the last 20+ years is typically in over 5 bands and plays very regularly. Google Calendar was by far the best way to check his schedule always before booking our bands. Obviously it only works if people put their gigs on it, or their other commitments, but it's by far the...
I've played in loud rock bands for over 40 years. There's ZERO way I could hear the change in tone from a tone cap with the tone knob on 10. I probably could hear the Tone Knob disconnected though, so I'm gonna try that shortly! :)
Eric
I've totally wondered about this. . Out of curiosity have you disconnected your tone knob and see the effect of that? I need to do that 1 of these days, as I have numerous strats and always hate the stock tone knobs/caps

Mine was on a new Granger 50 watt Plexi, and there are youtube videos of the guy who sold it to me playing Van Halen with a drummer and it sounds spot on. . Same with when Mark Abrahamium(Rockstah) used to post clips. I have a bunch of old Marshalls and ALL of mine if they were unmodded...
I figured after reading the 1st post, you were talking about a Rockstah Mod5 modded Marshall. I have a Granger Plexi with the MOD5, and it's voiced very bright with loads of hi-end harmonic complexity and I've played loud rock guitar for 47 years now, and it's f'ing bright. . .. BUT It...
So I'm a Scumback guy and certain Celestions mainly BUT the Naylor speakers are a great tone. I've owned them and Reverends in the past. I have a Naylor 2x12 that was pretty midrange/honky for me with the Naylor speakers but I've found 2 Celestions that make it work great. It's a VERY TIGHT...
I have a Morin modded 1980 JMP 50 watter. With the 2 push/pull pots , the sensitivity, the tube fx loop, etc. . I had a Morin preamp too and sold it to someone on this forum (Not sure why I sold it.. ) .. Anyway, congratulations
Eric
2-3 MONTHLY have been listed and all sold on TGP since they came out. I see them regularly and it makes me think just like you. However, there's very few guys here or there that keep hi-end amps for 20-30 years like I do.. . and run out of room :)
Eric
Great video btw, and to me they all sound like different shades of 'good'.. It's all about matching pedals to amps and you did a great job. Just out of curiosity have you tried the PLX Bion Boost? I got 1 recently and liked it so much I bought a 2nd one. It's also a Treble Booster.. . If...
YEP, OLD sort of makes the sound more chocolatey or creamy or smears up the sound where 'new' is tighter and more articulate. You are exactly correct, (well on my Mini-Comp as my other 2 Splawns don't have that). To me it kinda depends on my mood or my ears during the gig, or which guitar...
