like a few said , they need to let the new guy stand on his own and not harmonize the shit out of everything
I'd also add the 'darkness' to there music these days seems pretty forced ......at the same time when layne was in the band they did have an element of humour and now that's completely...
pretty much, I can't wait to pick up a kemper ...I waited till the last FW update and having to tweak my patches again was the nail in the coffin
I've always had better results using ozone than the tone match block anyway ....
I prefer the ultra....I have 2 ultras and a II
To me the no1 thing is to use other IR's that was the thing that made my presets start sounding great
The II is just turning into a PITA
axe-edit doesn't work, every FW upgrade the sounds completely change ...its getting cluttered with crazy deep...
find "¡Resistancia!" , its a bonus song off demanufacture with probably the best isolated guitar on that whole album in the intro (body hammer has synth under it)
colin richardson would have alot to do with the guitar sound as well
its pretty close , maybe a touch to much gain and bottom end
there is some pretty damn nasty noise as well in the background
also his main amp was stolen on the obsolete tour so it was probably a line 6 he was using thats why it didn't sound great hahah
is this a tone match or ozone IR on...
guitar was a 6 string tuned to B 25.5" scale with EMG 81 in the bridge
EMG 81 was a huge part of the sound....most 7 string pickups aren't so great...81-7 is the closest
His tone got worse when he started playing the 7 strings with the 707
His original amp was a modded 800 but its so far...
there is a song called "¡Resistancia!" on the demanufacture bonus edition that has isolated guitar in the start
its the best match on that album ...I've used it before with ozone to copy it perfectly
I'll be doing a tone match as well (i'd post it but will be away for 2 weeks as of tomorrow)...
best part of that whole video is at the end when pearcy starts twitching saying 'and it still might be'
the drummers book is a good read to
Bobby Blotzer says: "He was weak anyways, man. His live show was embarrassing to me. Every review on our band said he sucked. I used to say to him 'Dude...
I read in an interview he had one super strat style guitar with a floyd for all the whammy stuff
he bends behind the nut on the les pauls sometimes as well
good to hear it worked out
as a tip I always take pictures (and video) of anything I send of it working and also the packing as well (especially on items like amps)
very handy for when the shit hits the fan
