    What's your oldest guitar?

I have a 1960 one which looks similar. I got some locking tuners and strat pickups in it and it screams. Not a fan of the stock pickups. My 2nd oldest guitar is a 1961 SG Jr but the '60 MM actually sounds better.

Peavey 6505 original in stock now

Even “made in USA” 6505’s were mostly made in China for quite a while.

A good amp should record well.

Yes, but the recorded tone doesn't necessarily sound like what you hear in the room. Which is why making amp demos/reviews can be a tricky job because most people watching these are never going to record anything with said amp.

How well are Engl amps made?

Yep, they are built fine but your local amp tech will likely get very intimidated by it in case of repair.

Gibson Makes Cardigans For Geography Teachers

They did some badass shirts with Uniclo though, I got the Goldtop, SG and the 335. Really should've grabbed the V as well...

Les Paul Preference: Classic, Trad., Std.?

Yep. Generally can't be bothered with the non-CS ones now.

    Revv amps?

I had a Revv G20 and that was basically the vibe I felt. While it doesn't sound exactly like an Engl it's definitely in that direction. It was surely tight and modern but I can make all my other amps sound tight and modern with a parametric EQ. And for the price of a 20 watter I could've...

The Ultimate Diezel - Hagen 25

My Herbert sounds pretty good at low volume, and a new 25w Diezel would probably cost more than an used full sized one.

It’s still low output but voiced more aggressive/crunchy than 57 and Burstbucker. So I can make it work for high gain with a boost.

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

I’ve installed the Gotoh locking tuners. Also swapped the bridge pickup to a T Top which was originally from my ‘79 Silverburst.

Omega Obsidian: Am I missing something?

By your description I’d guess it was designed for lower tunings.

BTW a friend lent me a pair of Aldrich but the hole has been drilled for direct mount. Any recommendation on how to mount it to a pickup ring?

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

Post-2014 ones would have the "correct" 60's neck from what I've heard.

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

I've been looking into a post-2014 '68 LPC reissue for a while, which supposedly have more "correct" specs but there weren't a lot of them made. So I settled with this 2010 '68 LPC "Authentic". No idea what "Authentic" means, maybe it means the VOS finish which wasn't too common on older 68RI's...
