I have a 1960 one which looks similar. I got some locking tuners and strat pickups in it and it screams. Not a fan of the stock pickups.
My 2nd oldest guitar is a 1961 SG Jr but the '60 MM actually sounds better.
Yes, but the recorded tone doesn't necessarily sound like what you hear in the room. Which is why making amp demos/reviews can be a tricky job because most people watching these are never going to record anything with said amp.
I had a Revv G20 and that was basically the vibe I felt. While it doesn't sound exactly like an Engl it's definitely in that direction. It was surely tight and modern but I can make all my other amps sound tight and modern with a parametric EQ.

I've been looking into a post-2014 '68 LPC reissue for a while, which supposedly have more "correct" specs but there weren't a lot of them made. So I settled with this 2010 '68 LPC "Authentic". No idea what "Authentic" means, maybe it means the VOS finish which wasn't too common on older 68RI's...
