I have a pair of (old neck joint) FT Eclipses along with a few regular Eclipses and a few Les Pauls. The FT compared to the regular thickness Eclipses has a bit more lower mids which makes it seem fatter/bigger in the room.
In terms of the FT vs a Les Paul, they have a lot of the same sonic...
I prefer to use velcro ties. Easy to change and rearrange when you need them. I also use them for wrapping cables up when I'm not playing.
From Amazon but they also sell them at stores like Lowes or Home Depot.
I have an Explorer that I bought new in late 95. This many years later, the finish feels and looks like a typical thin-ish Gibson nitro finish. You can see the seams, but that's always been my experience with black guitars.
I've always found Explorers to hang well, typically body heavy, but...
The logo is certainly not from the factory. Based on how it attaches at the neck pocket, it looks like the body has been modified for some reason. The part that angles out toward the bottom of the body is supposed to be narrow at the neck plate, but is a full rectangle where the neck attaches...
Would definitely be mid to late 80s with that headstock.
The body doesn't bother me; they had Strat shaped bodies in the mid 80s. The neck seems a bit oddly shaped. Any pics of the logo on the headstock?
There are lots of old ESP catalogs to look through at...
Worse than the Mustaine stuff is that he's trying to sell an LTD Grynch (Hetfield model) that was owned by the guy from Evanessence for $65k. :ROFLMAO:
I avoid paper like business cards or cardboard because it compresses over time. I buy wood laminate from a local hardware store or laminating film (the plastic stuff that you used to use on school reports because all teachers love the fancy folders.)
They're thin so it lets you have a lot of...
Also had an excellent experience. If you create an account and place an item in your cart but don't purchase it, they'll often try to contact you and offer you a lower price.
Or you could just call and talk to someone to get a better deal.
Capo on the 1st fret. I fret the low E somewhere around the 15th fret or where the body meets the neck (if it's closer than the 15th). I use a feeler gauge at the 7th fret and go for .010"
I measure nut slot height with nothing fretted and strung to pitch. I shoot for between .018-.020" over...
The Korean 1000 level LTD guitars are pretty good. Replacing some of the hardware and a good setup should get you there.
That being said, I haven't played any of the Indonesian made 1000 series guitars, so maybe my opinion would change. I suspect they wouldn't put out guitars that didn't...
I had a 5150III with one of his mods. I didn't particularly like how it sounded, but at least it was on a pot so I could turn it off.
There was a lot of bad opinions of him and his mod to a KSR amp of some sort on (no surprise) a KSR group on bookface.
My understanding is that the circuit of the Artemis has "the Wood mod" as a standard part of the voicing. On the Colossus, it's an option. I don't remember what, exactly, it does, but I believe it is slightly different than a stock Colossus.
Now that I think of it, I think there is also an...
Talk to Kyle (from KSR). He was super friendly and was able to help me make sure what I wanted was what I was getting. It may be that you can get what you're looking for from his new Ceres pedal, or in one of the smaller heads (Ares, I think). The Artemis was a hefty investment, I think the most...
