I'm here! I'm always on rig-Talk, HRI, and TGP (and a few other forums periodically). I'm a hard core gear geek just like all of you, I should play more and read/post less haha
OK, so-
Addressing the availability/run of 50 situation-
the redesigned PT100 will live on and become a regular part of the Suhr product lineup. This custom run of 50 is all about the special "Signature Edition"- a matching cab, the look, custom carbon fiber tolex, etc. This is something...
John and I spent countless hours dialing in the tone of the preamp, balanced with depth in the power section. Thin the bass in the pre too much, and add it back via depth- sure, it sounds tight, even with lotsa gain- but single notes get thin and screechy, and things start to sound fake to me...
Hiya, long story short- everything you mention has been addressed. There's been a bunch of mods to ch2/3-we dialed in ch2/3 to sound like the Marshall of your dreams, with enough range on the tone controls (especially the treble) to match up with any good quality speakers/cab. With just a tweak...
Ya the cab smokes! It's deep, but not as tall as say, a Bogner OS 2-12". We worked hard to get the dimensions right and the speaker choice that matched. It's a beautiful cab, sounds huge and is covered in that killer carbon fiber tolex. It's not at all boomy, just sounds big and tight (but not...
Cool, I'm glad it comes across- it really has that magic plexi/super lead chewy feel and tone thing!i don't know how else to describe it but you guys know what I mean. It's all a balancing act- the tone of the preamp, filtering, output transformer, the killer new boost, etc...
Hi guys,
I'll do a full demo at my studio very soon, like next week. Going to take 2 days off after namm to just chill and then I'll get to work, so you can hear more of the amp. I'll be sure to use a variety of guitars.
Thanks for your interest! I'll check this thread for any questions you...
Proper pics and vid will be up soon, this afternoon I'm told... hard for you to see in a bad cell pic but the anodized panel, carbon fiber tolex, etc are really cool.
Oh- think vintage ampeg, as far as what it gives a nod to, looks-wise :) that was what I saw, it was unintentional but the first time I saw it I was like hmm, sort of reminiscent of a V4!
Ok, so-
The new PT you see here is an exact duplicate of my Frankenstein modded PT road amp, with all the tweaks and mods that we've made over the last 4 years or so.
-revoiced channels that sound INCREDIBLE. I'll put it up against any channel switcher out there- it is unreal, tonally...
Not usually, not unless I really missed something when recording- I spend time dialing in the tones at the source- I.e. miking the amps really well, tweaking the eq on the amp and/or pedal to really get the sound in a natural way. Just like you would on any session! I want the demos to be an...
Agreed- that's why I use the Bassman a lot in these vids- I figure it's a good "basic" sound. I bought that amp for $400 bucks. So I figure no one can say "oh sure the pedal sounds good but he's running it into a $3500 amp".
