Bogner Helios 100W , best Marshally higain in production amp. Organic, thumping, effortless…not generic ultra boring Diezel Higain or ultrastiff Wizard…just perfect compromise of vintage and modern…masterpiece.
Life is too short for practice on shitty amp like Katana :) or worse PC plugins . There is no dynamic, flubby bass or un-natural response of guitar monitors in case of fuck-ins. I don't understand why practice on low end guitar or amp when my play time is 90% home 10% rehearsal/gigs. My practice...
Jet city is perfect example of how important are trannies/iron. They miss 'magic' what makes Soldano great. Very generic, flat and one dimensional sounding amps even they are 95% Soldanos circuit-wise :) I had 20, 50 and 100W. Good modding platform but no cure for SLO GAS.
This guy is mediocre player at best, nowhere at Rabea’s level, technically, writting or feeling. I am not so crazy with Rabea sound but works for him and his music. Did You ever heard any of his albums or collabs ?
I always hear tons of ear piercing high end in this demos and not enough balls...
Harley Benton 2x12. Is it possible to buy in US on Thomann ? Older front loaded version with sealed back is comparable to every top shelf cabinet. Newer rearloaded is good too but depends on how tight is put together patricular one :) I prefer Benton with Scumbacks over Bogner with V30...
'71 sounds best to me, '73 and '76 are very similar. But I can see how some poeple hear it like 'the same'. But these are the ones i take serously when comes to gear talk :ROFLMAO:
DiMarzio super 3 with Naylor's naturally fatter sound should sound little bit dull. Has it HiDrive option ? I recommend boost but not TS style (boosting mids), something like Mesa Grid Slammer, Friedman Buxom etc. Presence control is like on picture ?
Congrats bwt. Peters amps intrigued me few...
Deliverance, 6505, Blackmore, DSL100H in this order. My bandmate plays Deliverance and I saw him this week with his other band...man, that VHT sounded fabulous. It dominated to second guitarist Triple Rect in band.
not enough space :)
I agree with doubt about bigger stages. I played few show with one and there wasn't enough headroom for solo boost. After 10-11 o'clock on volume it adds only a compression.
I loved the ability to sound like good old Marshall on crunch channel and 'modern' Marshall with US voicing on OD channel. But still those two channel fits perfectly to each other.
Hi,
i was fortunate to play SLO for first time. It is very rare amp in Czech republic and my buddy from Slovakia have one and I have chance to go thru its paces. I played almost all Soldanos... Decatone, Hot Rods 50/100, SL60, X99, SLO30...but never SLO. This one is an older version without...
I don't think it is possible to make overwound 17kohm Alnico 5 tighter than ceramic pickup. Aldrich have huge bottom end but tightness and clarity are much better with Tremonti pup. I have them in the same guitar too.
Those 70/80 modes on Helios are golden. It is like two different amps in one. JTM30 mode on 100 another great option which gives amp different feel.
This is the amp a miss the most. I already had an Eclipse but it missed some of the mojo the original has. What is intresting on Helios is master...
it is a joke, right ?
Mezzabarba is surname of the builder/designer Pierangello and nameitself is surely older than whole Mesa thing.
I had his 100W amps, Monster and X3M preamp + Slave 100 poweramp and those amp can hang with 100W Wizards easily so not right place for mocking...
