I am NOT a fanboy by any means, but the Axe beating here is pretty funny. I play an Axe II now, have had an Ultra, but have not played a Kemper. I have listened to a Kemper and will not bad mouth it...they do sound pretty good. I will say the Fractal Axe II has relieved me of rver looking for...

Just my .03 cents, and I know you prefaced with "The key to the axe for me right now is..." But, my experience is not soooo black and white as yours is. I am no Fractal fanboi but I am happy with the unit. I have played frfr, PA into 4X12's, both simultaneously, and have seen a few bands live...

Yup, What Ralph said. I also used the low frequency parameter to cut some of the bass before the amp to tighten things up a bit. IIRC 70-80hz, narrow bandwidth cut a few dB The noise reduction would probably be most effective in the loop.

What tones are you trying to get? I used to use a PQ3 in front of my Splawn for that super midrangey 80's rock sound. Like Steve said...it will be noisy, but it can get some great sounds this way, I used to use my gain lower kinda crunchy and use the boost from the PQ3 to get the drive I...

Good luck on the fix. Having to go back to the SB isn't that bad of a problem to have. I loved the clips you posted of that bad boy! btw....are they still around anywhere?
