Jet City JCA100h Vs Blackstar HT100

I actually thought the JC had a really huge metal tone and much mroe gain than I expected, but it was loose and beefy, like a recto. (but not like a recto, if you catch my drift) I really want a nice clean channel, can you comment on that, Tom?

Jet City JCA100h Vs Blackstar HT100

Thanks for the info man. Thing is, I play in a prog rock band, and I need a range of tones, so a three channel amp really sparks my interest, I think the Jet City sounds fantastic, I wouldn't mind owning both actually. I've heard from people that the blackstar's tone isn't as good as the Jet...

    OT: NHD (New House Day)

I find putting a low-gain 12A_7 in the preamp helps improve the consistancy of the spray. Also, does it fit your existing adaptor or did you have to buy a new one?

Hey man, Thanks for the clip, I have seen it alredy but the tones are so tasty that I'm gonna watch it again.

Ah that's great to hear. Reading about the Blackstar HT100 which tends to score better in reviews, I'm beginning to have second thoughts, I wonder if the 80s hard rock lovers on this forum have influenced me a bit.  Judging from the clips, the Jet City sounds better though. The...

    $1100 for a gooped pedal.

I don't get this either! I think I saw someone say that it was to 'protect' the intilectual property of the designer by not showing the circuitry. Though goop just makes me think "Oooooh I wonder what's under there?!:D" and open circuit designs make me go "Oh, it's just some wires and shit"

Jet City JCA100h Vs Blackstar HT100

I think they're probably about as flexable as eachother, the Blackstar has three chanels, but the Jet City has a huge array of tones by turning the gain knob.

Jet City JCA100h Vs Blackstar HT100

If it were between the Series One and the Jet City I'd pick the Blckstar probably. There's one on Ebay for £600 but it will have ended by the time I have sold my 5150. The HT series is their cheaper series, more for less experienced gigging guitarists.

Jet City JCA100h Vs Blackstar HT100

Apologies for the number of threads. So, after setting my heart on the Jet City, I've read some reviews and the Blackstar scores better in a lot of them, for the same price, and it has better features. I'm worried I might be making the wong choice in going for the Jet City. It's great but I...

Well, I play lots of stuff, blues, jazz, prog, 80s stuff like Ozzy, modern metal etc. I'd like to see how versetile this amp is incase I decide to join a modern metal band in the future. I tend to dial the bass out as well, I have a bass player for fucks sake.

Thanks man, sounds good. That's pretty much what my settings were today. :) What cab are you using? Also, have you tried it for tight, percussive metal rhythm? It wasn't as good as my 5150 but it was putting out a lot more bass and I didn't have a boost or noise gate.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention, the one I tried had a busted indicator LED. NOT GOOD! Apparently it's quite a common problem, but the guy at the store said there aren't any other problems that he knows of which are common in this amp.

It's the same kinda buzz as my 5150 II has with TAD valves, and my friend's 6505 with Ruby's, but a little more so. I think it'll be fine with a noise supressor.

I know, I know. :) It has so much more bass than I found, not the same kind, or should I say calibre of mids as the 5150. How did you find it? I found myself pushing the mids pretty hard and cutting back the bass.

    Damn she's ugly!

Me too. Gives a more professional look. Though I do agree, the VHT and Soldano rack stuff looks SEXY! Especially in Purple.

Let's just say.. my 5150 II is going on Ebay tomorow morning. it sounded HUGE. Great through the Jet City cab, I may have to buy the cab too if it doesn't sound fantastic through my Marshall 212. The shop has stopped dealing Jet City due to lack of interest (most people just want Marshall...

100 watt clean, 50 watt lead.

I don't. It's a theoretical concern more than anything. My cleans the way I like them on my 5150 at gig voumes run at about 5 on the volume, pretty low on the gain, that's 120 watts, if it was a 50 watter I'd probably come close to running out of crystal cleanness.

100 watt clean, 50 watt lead.

Ahh cool, it seems like the kinda feature that Mesa would employ. It's definitely something I'd pay extra for in an amp.
