A good alternative I've personally found is my setup of a rack preamp with a decent effect processor (JMP-1 w/Digitech 1101). Really versatile without having to shell out £££'s on a Kemper or Fractal.

Not been a fan of it in the neck position; a bit too weak for me, but in that vid with the 5153 it sounds great in the bridge!

I had one in my LP which i sold and it was great, but didn't want to buy the same pickup twice so I've opted for the Air Norton which seems to have a bit more output, to match the SSH+ in the bridge, but a very similar EQ.

The JST SSV is nice, but it can sound a bit "single coil-y"; what p/u do you think would work well with the SSH+ in the bridge? Going for a more liquid, creamy sound. Thanks!

So the GSP would essentially be in the loop of the JMP? That would make sense as i only need it for mod/delay/verb. Any tips on setting up the MIDI? Thanks again!

Recently bought a JMP-1 exclusively for my amp sounds and I want to now use the GSP for effects. How do I hook these up, so for example Channel 1 is a straight unaffected clean sound and Channel 2 is clean, but with effects from the GSP? I'll be using a Behringer FCB to switch everything too...

That's Metallica at their peak, perfomance and tone-wise, for me. Lars' drum sound is thunderous and the guitars sound massive! Something they haven't got back I don't think.

I've seen a few videos recently where he's discussing his tone and how he's using the 1 and 3 on stage and how his new Legacy pedal gets the sound of the 1 and 3 very accurately. What happened with the 2? I assume he designed it, so why doesn't he use it does anyone know?

There is ALWAYS talent in every era of music, you just have to be open to finding and looking for stuff and realise artists like Adele aren't for you and that's fine. Spotify and YouTube are your friends in this regard.
