It's a NFT and I can't seem to figure out how to tighten down the arm insert nut with the plastic washer underneath. It's just spinning in place right now...thoughts?
Yes, exactly.
While I appreciate your tenacity, this just isn’t something you discover from reading a book. I’ve owned well over a hundred bolt on guitars—I know how they should sustain and, alternatively, ring when played acoustically. In my experience you can usually tell whether a guitar...
Maybe, who's to say? I think strings and picks sometimes do more to your tone than a pickup swap. I've got a gorgeous tone dead HH Jazzmaster right here that no pickup has been able to really fix. IME sometimes the body itself is the most important thing.
A "science device" lol--I'm guessing you are being facetious? The bodies I use are cut with precision measurements and CNC machines...I'm not whittling them down in the back yard.
Hey I want people to think electric guitar bodies don't affect tone and sustain--I need someone to buy my dogs off...
What exactly? Three times I have conceded that my end result guitar was not going to work for me so I swapped out ONLY the body and was extremely pleased with the results. Yeah I took a bath selling the rejected finished bodies but unfortunately some pieces of wood aren't good for guitar...
I’ve put together at least a dozen different bolt on guitars—buying bodies from Warmoth and necks from Musikraft then sending them out for finish work at MJT. There is unfortunately no way to tell how ‘lively’ and resonant the end result will be. Some end up to be absolute dogs and others ring...
Tough to beat the flexibility of the H90 or the FM3–yeah more $$ but considering how much you get in the box IMO it’s worth the cost if you are someone who might frequent a board named ‘rig-talk’
Here in the Boston area, its amps turned up and mic’ed. I’ve seen a few ‘silent stages’ at small restaurants but that’s not anything I would be interested in
Just ordered a new 50w head from @MGL AmpWorks last week. I have an older version and I love it—played the newer one at Marks shop and it’s even better. Had the Helios, all the Friedmans, Colby, Splawn, Deliverance…the only thing that bites like a Marshall that Ive tried is MGL and Morris
Nice! I’ve had the ax cab for like 20yrs looking for a reasonably priced bottom—lowest I’ve seen was $800 and couldn’t do it.
Is yours heavy? My slant version is the heaviest cab I own
