Here's what they are saying about the Thiele. I guess people complained because the specs were changed from the original ones. They seem to think the C90 is a good era-appropriate replacement for the EV.

Era appropriate my ass. More like Gibson doesn't like EV's bulk pricing vs their desired price point on the cabs. I have a feeling there will be a good few more C90's on the used market when people upgrade their cabs themselves.

I recently bought the open back 1x12 and a Thiele, both with C90s. I’ve used them on a few gigs and I have zero complaints. They sound great to me!
