I've wondered personally if the SD3 expansion packs are worth it. Haven't been able to justify buying the expansions. I bought SD3 just so I could put songs together and write. I don't really have anyone to jam with locally so this has been my solution for writing.

The V3 is a cool amp. With 6L6 it really comes alive. EL34s sound flubby and weird in the low mid. It's kind of got a rectoish feel to it I guess but in it's own way. I also never really considered an Uber or Knucklehead II/K-Tre... Need to investigate those some more.

It's sat on 3 different cabs with 4 different guitars already. I've got a Greenback loaded 4x12 Marshall, Creamback loaded 2x12 and a v30/K100 loaded 2x12 along with this Recto cab. To my ears, the 6505+ just sounds better so I don't need two amps directly in the 5150/6505 realm in my eyes.
