So, I took some advice from @Soundstorm and got the Death and Darkness expansion pack. I also spent some time working on the mix, compression, eq etc.
Still feel like I need to do a little more, but it definitely sounds completely different from before.
Both mixes are here. What do you...
Appreciate that info. I'm definitely gonna look into that because I will absolutely at some point release solo stuff without real drums because it's so hard to get my brother nailed down for any period of times to lay out real drums. Thanks for the info!
I've wondered personally if the SD3 expansion packs are worth it. Haven't been able to justify buying the expansions. I bought SD3 just so I could put songs together and write. I don't really have anyone to jam with locally so this has been my solution for writing.
I've tossed around whether to share this any time soon or not, but figured what the hell ?♂️ Just a little something I've been working on amongst about 14 other songs at the moment. Have been progressively learning how to get better at recording and I am pretty happy with how this one is coming...
Personally, in a band situation be it practice or live, I have always had my fellow band members be on the same tuner as me, or me the same as them. I have 3 of these and I have 3 rack mounted Korg Pitchbacks and they all seem to be pretty similar.
I guess I never really considered that tuners...
Appreciate it! I'll have to reach out to Rich and see what he can get me.
Now... What the hell pickup should I put in it is the question. I'm a chugger and this thing will probably hang out in Drop D or Drop C#. Can't play a lot of lead nor do I care to typically but I do like to play some...
Found this guitar at a yard sale beat to snot many years ago when I was about 20 or 21. I was working at a body shop at the time and after playing it for a bit decided to strip it down, paint it and make it nice again.
Unfortunately, now almost 20 additional years later and a couple of moves...
The V3 is a cool amp. With 6L6 it really comes alive. EL34s sound flubby and weird in the low mid. It's kind of got a rectoish feel to it I guess but in it's own way.
I also never really considered an Uber or Knucklehead II/K-Tre... Need to investigate those some more.
It's sat on 3 different cabs with 4 different guitars already. I've got a Greenback loaded 4x12 Marshall, Creamback loaded 2x12 and a v30/K100 loaded 2x12 along with this Recto cab.
To my ears, the 6505+ just sounds better so I don't need two amps directly in the 5150/6505 realm in my eyes.
So, I've made the decision to sell my EVH 5150III Stealth 100w head. I love the amp, but I have a 6505+ which honestly, I like better and also have my Roadster Recto which I love tremendously as well. I could survive with the 6505+ and Roadster forever, but I always am looking for that new sound...
I've gotten rid of far too many sadly. I will miss my Ultra Lead forever. I try not to get rid of any gear anymore. Usually just trade when it's a trade up. Honestly I have $250 realistically in the Roadster. It all started with a block letter I found that they thought was broke and ended up...
Sounds like I'm keeping the Mesa ? Damn that's a lot of responses but that's why I always turn here.
I do boost the Mesa currently. May try stacking boosts to see what it does. Had good success with that on my JCM800. Really made that thing super tight.
As soon as people started comparing to...
Recently I picked up a Mesa Roadster head, an amp I have wanted since they first came out. Just didn't have adult money like I do now back then and they became a little difficult to track down over the past few years.
I absolutely love this thing. It sounds (to me) dramatically different than...
To be honest I think the difference between each channel is what I like about it the most.
I have an extremely diverse musical pallet. I play mainly drop tuned 7 string deathcore, but I love to play around with old 90s grunge and rock, classic rock stuff, blues stuff and even country stuff at...
It's just all MESA tubes and a lot of the lettering on them is worn off or chipped off. They physically look like they are probably whatever the amp originally shipped with. 6L6GC, 5U4GB and 12AX7.
Played one of these in a music store local to where I was living at the time back in about 2007 and fell in love. Unfortunately at that point in life I wasn't in a position to spend the money to grab one. Always kept an eye out as the years passed, but could never seem to find one when I had...
