I compared my Achillies Typhon 4x12 to my Bogner Helios 4x12.
They were close when it came to cleans and low-gain. I favoured the Bogner slightly for those tones.
But when it came to high-gain, the Achillies was my favorite. The deciding factor may simply have been the speakers (Achillies has...
I had a similar tone journey, but with Peters amps. Tried some big name high-end amps and came full circle back to where it all began.
Nice rig btw!
GRYPHON is thick and chewy, with a little bounce in the low end.
VEGA is lean and mean with some really nice thwack to the attack.
GNL is very similar to the Gryphon, just with more gain range and tighter lows.
I also had a HYDRA, and that channel was perfect for lead playing. Really juicy...
Just sharing a quick demo of my Kiesel Delos loaded with the Jim Wagner Iron Man Set into my dual Peters rig of doom...
LEFT: Peters Triple Channel Halo/Vega/GNL >>> 4x12 with X-Pattern of Redbacks/CreamBacks.
RIGHT: Peters Dual Channel Halo/Gryphon >>> 2x12 with a GreenBack on top of a V30.
Suhr for sure.
My old Peavey HP Special Carve Top has some serious mojo and plays like a dream.
And my Ibanez JS guitars are super comfy and play real nice.

Mate I have to try one of these pickups you keep referencing. For me the Wagner's are that good that I can't believe I'd like anything else more than them. There is one other pickup by an Australian winder that has been comparable, but it was a little more hit-&-miss than the Wagners. Especially...
Never tried Wolfetones but have used and own many Wagners. My fave bridge pickups are the Darkburst and the Iron Man. But I didn't get along with the Godwood bridge.
For a less-aggressive lower-output approach, the Darkburst bridge is magic. It has a balanced EQ spectrum with a slight boost in...
